kubesphere-volcanoCreates, lists, updates and deletes Volcano Jobs and Queues in KubeSphere, with YAML templates for PyTorch, TensorFlow, MPI and batch jobs plus scheduling troubleshooting.
Volcano Jobs and Queues inside KubeSphere are the focus of this skill. The agent can create, list, update and delete Jobs, manage Queues, generate YAML for PyTorch, TensorFlow, MPI and plain batch jobs, and investigate jobs stuck in pending, pods that never get created and other scheduling problems.
Two API routes are described: the KubeSphere extension API under /kapis, which uses the volcanojobs resource name and is the recommended one, and the Kubernetes native API under /apis, which uses jobs. The skill insists on the resource kind being Job (short names vcjob or vj) rather than VolcanoJob, warns that deleting a Job terminates its running pods, and expects the KS_HOST and KS_PASSWORD environment variables. It assumes the Volcano extension is already installed and leaves JobFlow, JobTemplate and Command out of scope.
5 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 04a29b5. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
kubectlcurljqFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use kubectl and curl, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names these keys or tokens, usually read from environment variables:
KS_TOKENKS_PASSWORDFrom names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
KubeSphere Volcano Jobs loads about 5.6k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 104 tokens; SKILL.md has 745 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 745 words (~5,612 tokens).

KubeSphere Volcano Jobs fits situations like: submitting a PyTorch, TensorFlow or MPI training job to Volcano on KubeSphere; creating or inspecting Volcano Queues that control job scheduling; finding out why a Volcano job is pending or its pods are not created; listing, updating or deleting existing Volcano Jobs in a namespace.
Run `npx skills add kubesphere/kubesphere --skill kubesphere-volcano -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/kubesphere-volcano in kubesphere/kubesphere) into .claude/skills/kubesphere-volcano in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add kubesphere/kubesphere --skill kubesphere-volcano -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/kubesphere-volcano in kubesphere/kubesphere) into .agents/skills/kubesphere-volcano in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add kubesphere/kubesphere --skill kubesphere-volcano -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/kubesphere-volcano, .gemini/skills/kubesphere-volcano, .github/skills/kubesphere-volcano and .opencode/skills/kubesphere-volcano in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, KubeSphere Volcano Jobs needs the command-line tools its instructions call (kubectl, curl and jq) and credentials named KS_TOKEN and KS_PASSWORD. Our summary lists: The KS_HOST and KS_PASSWORD environment variables; kubectl access to a KubeSphere cluster; The Volcano extension installed in KubeSphere.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use curl, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
KubeSphere Volcano Jobs has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 5.6k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 22k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
