kubesphere-extension-managementInstalls, configures, upgrades and removes KubeSphere extensions through Extension, ExtensionVersion and InstallPlan resources, including dependencies and versions.
This skill covers managing extensions in KubeSphere: finding what is available, installing, configuring, upgrading, uninstalling and troubleshooting. It explains the flow from an extension museum, a local chart repository, to Extension resources, to an InstallPlan that triggers a Helm job, and finally to the deployed extension.
Three resource types carry the detail. Extension holds the name, the available versions and the state, such as installed, upgrading or failed. ExtensionVersion holds the Helm chart URL, target namespace, installation mode (multicluster or host-only), the required KubeSphere version and dependencies on other extensions. InstallPlan is the trigger: its name must match the extension name, and it names the exact version, an enabled flag and an upgrade strategy, with manual advised for production, plus optional YAML config and multi-cluster scheduling.
An `evals/evals.json` file ships with the skill. The text available here ends within the InstallPlan status fields, so the upgrade and troubleshooting procedures are not described.
5 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 04a29b5. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
KubeSphere Extension Management loads about 2.8k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 72 tokens; SKILL.md has 430 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 430 words (~2,826 tokens).

KubeSphere Extension Management fits situations like: installing a KubeSphere extension at a specific version; checking which extensions are installed and in what state; resolving extension dependencies before an install or upgrade; upgrading or uninstalling an extension and troubleshooting a failed InstallPlan.
Run `npx skills add kubesphere/kubesphere --skill kubesphere-extension-management -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/kubesphere-extension-management in kubesphere/kubesphere) into .claude/skills/kubesphere-extension-management in your project. Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add kubesphere/kubesphere --skill kubesphere-extension-management -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/kubesphere-extension-management, .gemini/skills/kubesphere-extension-management, .github/skills/kubesphere-extension-management and .opencode/skills/kubesphere-extension-management in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, KubeSphere Extension Management needs the command-line tools its instructions call (kubectl and jq). Our summary lists: A running KubeSphere cluster.
SKILL.md names 2 domains. As links in the text: docs.kubesphere.com.cn and kubesphere.com.cn. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
KubeSphere Extension Management has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 2.8k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 11k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
