kubesphere-devops-argocdGuides GitOps deployments with the ArgoCD bundled in KubeSphere DevOps: applications, Dex SSO, repository credentials and sync troubleshooting.
KubeSphere DevOps ships ArgoCD v2.11.7 as a bundled subchart, and this skill gives the agent a map of how it fits into KubeSphere. It explains the two ways to create applications: a direct ArgoCD Application in the argocd namespace for administrators, and a KubeSphere GitOps application created through the gitops.kubesphere.io API in a tenant namespace, where KubeSphere creates the matching ArgoCD Application behind the scenes.
The skill also lists the ArgoCD components running in the cluster, including the application and ApplicationSet controllers, the Dex server, the notifications controller, Redis, the repo server and the API server, along with the pod name patterns to look for. Its use cases cover ApplicationSets, SSO through Dex, multi-cluster deployments, repository credentials and diagnosing sync problems.
4 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 04a29b5. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
kubectlargocdcurljqFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Hosts in commands or code, which the agent is likely to contact:
github.comkubernetes.default.svccharts.helm.shargocd-server.argocdAlso links to:
argo-cd.readthedocs.iodocs.kubesphere.ioFrom URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names these keys or tokens, usually read from environment variables:
API_TOKENARGO_TOKENFrom names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
KubeSphere DevOps ArgoCD Setup loads about 5.8k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 43 tokens; SKILL.md has 886 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.
sudo install -m 555 argocd-linux-amd64 /usr/local/bin/argocdAutomated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 886 words (~5,832 tokens).
“KubeSphere DevOps includes ArgoCD v2.11.7 as a bundled subchart for GitOps continuous deployment. ArgoCD follows the declarative GitOps pattern, automatically syncing application state with Git repositories.”

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, KubeSphere DevOps ArgoCD Setup needs the command-line tools its instructions call (kubectl, argocd, curl and jq) and credentials named API_TOKEN and ARGO_TOKEN. Our summary lists: A KubeSphere installation with the DevOps extension; kubectl access to the cluster.
SKILL.md names 6 domains. In commands or code: github.com, kubernetes.default.svc, charts.helm.sh and argocd-server.argocd; the agent is likely to contact these when it follows the instructions. As links in the text: argo-cd.readthedocs.io and docs.kubesphere.io. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found notes only (runs commands with sudo), nothing it rates as a warning. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
KubeSphere DevOps ArgoCD Setup has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 5.8k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 23k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
