  • Generating FrontendIntegration YAML from a simple menu and page description
  • SKILL.md covers When to Use, Do Not Use, Required Inputs and Authoring Model, plus 3 more sections
  • Runs Python scripts from its folder

What it does

The agent turns a simplified authoring model into submit-ready `FrontendIntegration` YAML. The model has top-level metadata, optional spec passthrough fields, one menu and one or more pages, and the agent runs `scripts/generate_frontend_integration.py` rather than writing canonical `spec.menus[]` by hand. It asks you instead of guessing when required inputs are missing: the name, menu display name, placements, at least one page, the group, version, scope and plural name for a CRD table, or the key and source URL for an iframe page.

The generator is the source of truth. It expands menu placements into menus, derives children from pages, forces CRD table scope to Namespaced when any placement is workspace, and defaults the menu icon to GridDuotone. Runtime-managed metadata is added only on request. The YAML comes back first in a single code block, followed by a fixed line telling you to reply apply to deploy it. Troubleshooting existing resources, lifecycle management and multi-menu models are out of scope.

When your agent uses it

  • Generating FrontendIntegration YAML from a simple menu and page description
  • Creating a quick integration YAML from a CRD
  • Creating an iframe-based FrontendIntegration YAML
  • Converting a single-menu config into canonical YAML

Example prompts

  • “Generate a FrontendIntegration YAML for a menu called Reports with one iframe page.”
  • “Create a quick integration YAML from this CRD and place it under the workspace menu.”
  • “Convert my single-menu config into canonical FrontendIntegration YAML.”

Requirements

  • A way to run `scripts/generate_frontend_integration.py`

Workflow steps

5 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Extract the simplified authoring model.
  2. Fill only safe defaults.
  3. Keep the model in single-menu form.
  4. Run scripts/generate_frontend_integration.py.
  5. Return the generated canonical YAML.

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 04a29b5. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

Ships 1 file in scripts/ (Python), which the agent can run.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

FrontendIntegration YAML Generator loads about 570 tokens when it runs, and up to ~2.2k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 34 tokens; SKILL.md has 264 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~34
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~570
With references · SKILL.md plus every file in references/, read only if the agent opens them
~2.2k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.

SKILL.md

Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 264 words (~570 tokens).
