At a glance

Operates FrontendIntegration resources and the frontend-forge extension with kubectl: create from YAML, update, enable, disable, delete, inspect and troubleshoot builds.

  • Works in 4 steps: Run the preflight checks. → If the user provides YAML content, write… → Apply the YAML with kubectl apply -f. → …
  • Applying a FrontendIntegration from a finished YAML file to a cluster
  • SKILL.md covers When to Use, Do Not Use, Preconditions and Read First, plus 4 more sections
  • Calls kubectl

What it does

The skill works through `kubectl` against a cluster where the `frontend-forge` extension is installed and enabled, since every FrontendIntegration (FI) depends on it. Before any operation it runs `kubectl get extension frontend-forge` and `kubectl get installplan frontend-forge -o yaml`, and it continues only if the extension and its InstallPlan exist and `spec.enabled` is true; otherwise it switches to the extension management workflow.

FI work covers creating an FI from complete YAML (written to a temp file if pasted, then applied with `kubectl apply -f` and inspected), updating by editing and re-applying YAML, enabling, disabling or deleting, and inspecting status, build jobs, JSBundle, ConfigMap, manifest and source-spec annotations. FI resources are cluster-scoped, so no namespace flag is used. It does not write new FI YAML from natural language or manage other extensions. Reference files cover extension management, lifecycle and inspection.

When your agent uses it

  • Applying a FrontendIntegration from a finished YAML file to a cluster
  • Enabling, disabling or deleting an existing FrontendIntegration
  • Troubleshooting a failed FrontendIntegration build or reconciliation
  • Installing, enabling or uninstalling the frontend-forge extension

Example prompts

  • “Apply this FrontendIntegration YAML to the cluster and show me its status.”
  • “Disable the dashboard-widgets FrontendIntegration without deleting it.”
  • “Why did the build job for my FrontendIntegration fail? Inspect the JSBundle and ConfigMap.”
  • “Check whether the frontend-forge extension is installed and enabled.”

Requirements

  • kubectl configured for the target cluster
  • The frontend-forge extension installed and enabled

Workflow steps

4 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Run the preflight checks.
  2. If the user provides YAML content, write it to a temporary file.
  3. Apply the YAML with kubectl apply -f.
  4. Inspect the result.

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 04a29b5. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

    Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

    • kubectl

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use kubectl, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Frontend Forge FI Operations loads about 1.3k tokens when it runs, and up to ~2.4k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 98 tokens; SKILL.md has 528 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~98
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~1.3k
With references · SKILL.md plus every file in references/, read only if the agent opens them
~2.4k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

SKILL.md

Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 528 words (~1,268 tokens).
