caveman-helpCaveman Help Card is a skill in JuliusBrussee/caveman (111k stars). Its SKILL.md is about 690 tokens, with 1 other file in the folder. Licence: Apache-2.0.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 2e08b91. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are bash and json).
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Caveman Help Card loads about 690 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 31 tokens; SKILL.md has 310 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from JuliusBrussee/caveman at commit 2e08b91, republished under its Apache-2.0 licence (© JuliusBrussee). 310 words, ~690 tokens.
.claude/skills/caveman-help/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder). This skill also uses 1 other file; get the full folder from GitHub.Display this reference card when invoked. One-shot — do NOT change mode, write flag files, or persist anything. Output in caveman style.
| Mode | Trigger | What change |
|---|---|---|
| caveman | /caveman | The voice. Answer first, no fluff, every fact kept. Default. |
| ultracave | /ultracave (alias /caveman ultra) | Grammar stripped. Fragments, one word when enough, each fact once. |
| megacave | /megacave (alias /caveman wenyan) | Classical Chinese 文言文. Far fewer characters, technical terms verbatim. |
Mode stick until changed or session end.
/caveman status reports current mode without changing it. Claude Code and the standalone OpenCode plugin read stored state; other hosts answer from the conversation and mark it (not tracked by this host).
| Skill | Trigger | What it do |
|---|---|---|
| caveman-commit | /caveman-commit | Terse commit messages. Conventional Commits. ≤50 char subject. |
| caveman-review | /caveman-review | One-line PR comments: L42: bug: user null. Add guard. |
| caveman-compress | /caveman-compress <file> | Compress .md files to caveman prose. 33.2% fewer tokens on the repo's five test files. |
| caveman-help | /caveman-help | This card. |
Say "stop caveman" or "normal mode". Resume anytime with /caveman.
Keep user's language by default — reply in the language user writes, never switch regardless of example text or multilingual context elsewhere. Compress the style, not the language. Technical terms, code, commands, commit types, and exact error strings stay verbatim unless user ask for translation.
Default mode = caveman. Change it:
Environment variable (highest priority):
export CAVEMAN_DEFAULT_MODE=ultracaveConfig file (~/.config/caveman/config.json):
{ "defaultMode": "ultracave" }For opt-in activation in Claude Code, set defaultMode to manual. Sessions start off; /caveman or talk like caveman activates caveman. off also disables bare-command activation. manual is a startup policy, not a mode. OpenCode still starts in caveman mode because its installer also supplies static activation rules.
Set "off" to suppress automatic and bare-command activation. Use "manual" when bare /caveman should activate.
Resolution: env var > repo config > user config > caveman. Legacy values lite, full, ultra, wenyan* still resolve.

Mines local Copilot CLI session logs for dotnet/maui to rank costly or failing runs, tag recurring failure modes, propose repo edits and emit guard evals.
mksglu/context-mode
Routes large command, file, API and browser output through context-mode tools so only the needed result enters the agent's context, instead of dumping it via Bash.
kaitranntt/ccs
Hands simple, deterministic tasks such as typo fixes, tests and small refactors to cheaper models through the ccs CLI, choosing a profile from your config.
mksglu/context-mode
Routing rules for using context-mode MCP tools in Antigravity CLI: sandboxed code runs, file analysis, indexed search and web fetches that keep large output out of the conversation.

JuliusBrussee/caveman
Finds every LLM workflow in a repository, proposes a labeling table and, once you agree, wires labels so Caveman Cloud groups spend per workflow.
JuliusBrussee/caveman
Read-only review of Caveman Cloud data to explain where LLM spend goes: cost, score, workflows, traces, latency, errors, routing and verified savings.
JuliusBrussee/caveman
Reads the state and results of Caveman Cloud experiments and reports one recommendation or a block, without changing an experiment's lifecycle itself.
JuliusBrussee/caveman
Turns a Caveman report-only optimization observation into one minimal code change and a paired baseline evaluation, after the operator picks which to pursue.
JuliusBrussee/caveman
Routes every LLM call in a repository through the Caveman Cloud gateway in record mode, so requests and costs are measured without changing behavior.
JuliusBrussee/caveman
Switches the agent to a terse reply style that gives the answer first, drops filler, and keeps every technical fact, command and number exact.

SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Caveman Help Card is instructions for the agent only.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.

About 690 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.8k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
