shopify-expertBuilds Shopify themes in Liquid, custom apps, Storefront API storefronts and checkout extensions, using the Shopify CLI to lint, run locally and deploy.
The agent first decides whether a theme, an app or a headless build fits the need, then scaffolds with shopify theme init or shopify app create and configures shopify.app.toml and the theme schema. Implementation covers Liquid templates, GraphQL queries and app features. Validation runs shopify theme check for Liquid linting, shopify app dev for local app testing and a sandbox for checkout extensions, and every reported issue must be fixed before deploying with shopify theme push or shopify app deploy.
Reference files cover Liquid templating, the Storefront API for Hydrogen and custom frontends, app development with OAuth and webhooks, checkout UI extensions and Shopify Functions, and performance work on theme speed, assets and caching. Examples include a product template reading a metafield, Online Store 2.0 collection filtering, a Storefront API product query by handle and common CLI commands.
5 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 1be15d8. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

Shopify Expert loads about 1.8k tokens when it runs, and up to ~27k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 155 tokens; SKILL.md has 405 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from Jeffallan/claude-skills at commit 1be15d8, republished under its MIT licence (© Jeffallan). 405 words, ~1,819 tokens.
