What it does

React Native Navigation V6 is an agent skill from HoangNguyen0403/agent-skills-standard. Configure React Navigation 6+ stacks, tabs, and deep linking for React Native. Use when implementing React Navigation stacks, tabs, or deep linking in React Native.

Its SKILL.md is about 600 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 4 other files, including reference files (for example `evals/evals.json` and `references/deep-linking.md`).

It sits in Mobile, covering Cross-platform mobile apps. It works with React Native and React. The repository describes itself as: A collection of Agent Skills Standard and Best Practice for Programming Languages, Frameworks that help our AI Agent follow best practies on frameworks and programming laguages. The licence is MIT.

Example prompts

  • “/react-native-navigation-v6”

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit b529c2d. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

React Native Navigation V6 loads about 599 tokens when it runs, and up to ~2.1k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 48 tokens; SKILL.md has 214 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~48
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~599
With references · SKILL.md plus every file in references/, read only if the agent opens them
~2.1k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

React Native Navigation

Priority: P0 (CRITICAL)

Use React Navigation for stack/tab/drawer setup and auth-flow structure. For new Expo projects, prefer Expo Router instead (file-based, built on React Navigation) — see react-native-architecture for the decision criteria. Deep-linking config detail lives in react-native-navigation.

Build Type-Safe Navigation Stacks

  • Architecture: Use Native Stack (createNativeStackNavigator) by default for native performance. Only use JS Stack for custom transitions.
  • Typing: Use NativeStackScreenProps for screens. CompositeScreenProps for nested Navigators.

See deep linking reference for typed param lists and stack navigator setup.

Configure Deep Linking

  • Deep Linking: Use prefix arrays in linking config. Validate Universal Links (iOS) and App Links (Android). Handle unrecognized paths with 404 screen.

See deep linking reference for linking configuration with prefix arrays and fallback screens.

Implement Auth Flow

  • Auth/App split: Conditionally render Auth Stack vs App Stack in NavigationContainer. Clear navigation state after logout.
  • Logic: Use Tab Navigators for bottom navigation. Drawer for side menus.
  • Transitions: Native-like feel via presentation: 'modal'. Custom headerLeft/Right in options.
  • Data Flow: Use route.params for small IDs only. Use global state (Zustand/RTK) for complex data objects.

Anti-Patterns

  • No String Literals: Use typed params.
  • No Navigation in Business Logic: Pass callbacks from screens.
  • No Deep Nesting: Max 2-3 levels of navigators.
