What it does

Cyber Exercise Control is an agent skill from HoangNguyen0403/agent-skills-standard. Controls authorized cybersecurity exercises through inject scheduling, safety gates, stop and restart decisions, communications, and synthetic-data boundaries. Use when serving as exercise control or white-team coordinator, not as compliance assessor or whitehat operator.

Its SKILL.md is about 600 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 4 other files, including reference files (for example `evals/evals.json` and `references/control-log.md`).

It sits in Testing & QA, covering Test data and fixtures. The repository describes itself as: A collection of Agent Skills Standard and Best Practice for Programming Languages, Frameworks that help our AI Agent follow best practies on frameworks and programming laguages. The licence is MIT.

Example prompts

  • “Use the cyber-exercise-control skill to control authorized cybersecurity exercises through inject scheduling, safety gates, stop and restart…”
  • “/cyber-exercise-control”

Workflow steps

6 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Confirm approved plan, authorization, exclusions, runtime support, roles, and synthetic-data boundary.
  2. Publish schedule and injects with owner, trigger, expected channel, and abort condition.
  3. Log each release, pause, stop, restart, scope change, and escalation with time and authority.
  4. Stop on authorization expiry, scope drift, unsafe impact, data exposure, or unsupported runtime.
  5. Restart only after fresh authorization/runtime gates and a recorded decision.
  6. Hand observations to independent adjudication; preserve evidence and ground truth separately.

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit b529c2d. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Cyber Exercise Control loads about 598 tokens when it runs, and up to ~742 if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 74 tokens; SKILL.md has 200 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~74
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~598
With references · SKILL.md plus every file in references/, read only if the agent opens them
~742

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Cyber Exercise Control

Priority: P0 (CRITICAL)

Coordinate a bounded exercise; control safety and adjudication handoffs without performing attacks or certifying compliance.

Structure

text
cyber-exercise-control/
├── SKILL.md
├── references/control-log.md
└── evals/evals.json

Workflow

Rules

  • White team means exercise control and adjudication coordination here; it does not mean compliance or whitehat testing.
  • Keep offline inject design available when live controls are unsupported.
  • Do not issue attack commands, alter production, handle real credentials, or contact real targets.
  • Use shared evidence fields and canonical artifacts/security-review.md when applicable. Control records carry engagement_scope_ref, skill_version, source, observed_at, finding_status, evidence_refs, limitations, and accountable_owner.

Anti-Patterns

  • No silent scope change: Pause and re-authorize.
  • No self-adjudication: Control does not grade its own outcome.
  • No fake safety: Markdown cannot enforce runtime restrictions.
  • No forced continuity: Stop is valid evidence.
