What it does

Android Architecture is an agent skill from HoangNguyen0403/agent-skills-standard. Apply Clean Architecture layering, modularization, and Unidirectional Data Flow in Android projects. Use when setting up project structure, placing code in layers, configuring feature/core modules, or implementing UDF patterns; defer Compose state and ViewModel/StateFlow implementation to their specific skills.

Its SKILL.md is about 600 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 5 other files, including reference files (for example `evals/evals.json`, `references/compose-standards.md` and `references/implementation.md`).

It sits in Mobile, covering Design patterns and Android development. It works with Android. The repository describes itself as: A collection of Agent Skills Standard and Best Practice for Programming Languages, Frameworks that help our AI Agent follow best practies on frameworks and programming laguages. The licence is MIT.

Workflow steps

4 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.

  1. Layer Your Project (Clean Architecture)
  2. Modularize by Feature and Core
  3. Enforce Unidirectional Data Flow (UDF)
  4. Verify Jetpack Compose Integration

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit b529c2d. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Android Architecture loads about 601 tokens when it runs, and up to ~1.5k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 83 tokens; SKILL.md has 181 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~83
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~601
With references · SKILL.md plus every file in references/, read only if the agent opens them
~1.5k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Android Architecture Standards

Priority: P0 (CRITICAL)

1. Layer Your Project (Clean Architecture)

  • Domain: Pure Kotlin (No Android deps). Contains UseCases and Models.
  • Data: Repository impl, DataSources (API/DB). Maps DTO -> Domain.
  • UI: ViewModel + Composable. Maps Domain -> UiState.

See structure & examples for Clean Architecture layer examples.

2. Modularize by Feature and Core

  • Feature Modules: :feature:home, :feature:profile.
  • Core Modules: :core:ui (Design System), :core:network, :core:database.
  • App Module: DI Root and Navigation Guard.

See structure & examples for module configuration.

3. Enforce Unidirectional Data Flow (UDF)

  • Events: UI -> ViewModel (user actions flow UP).
  • State: ViewModel -> UI (StateFlow<UiState> flows DOWN).

4. Verify Jetpack Compose Integration

  • Hosting: Use setContent in Activity (No XML Layouts).
  • State: Hoist state to ViewModel using collectAsStateWithLifecycle.
  • Recomposition: Ensure Composable parameters @Stable or @Immutable.
  • Navigation: Use Compose Navigation with Type-Safe destinations.

Anti-Patterns

  • No Logic in Activity: Host Navigation only.
  • No Repo in UI: Access data exclusively via ViewModel.
  • No Context in Domain: Keep Logic Pure.

Verification

  • Domain layer has zero Android framework imports.
  • Each feature module compiles independently.
  • State flows one-way: Events UP, State DOWN.
  • ./gradlew build succeeds.
