elliott-waveDetects Elliott Wave structures in price data with a Zigzag swing finder and Fibonacci checks, and turns completed waves into long, short or flat signals.
Elliott Wave theory is implemented here as a pandas-based signal engine. It finds swing points with a Zigzag routine, matches five-wave impulse and three-wave corrective patterns, and checks them against the three impulse rules and Fibonacci relationships between waves, such as wave 3 at 1.618 times wave 1.
A completed five-wave advance produces a sell signal at the trend top, a finished A-B-C pullback produces a buy, and a wave 3 in progress produces no reversal signal. Signals use 1 for long, -1 for short and 0 for standing aside. The tunable parameters are swing_window (default 10), fib_tolerance (0.15) and min_wave_bars (5).
The notes admit that wave counting is subjective and automatic counts can have several readings, so the engine settles on one simple interpretation and prefers missing a signal to misclassifying one. The folder holds example_signal_engine.py and two reference notes on wave structure and Fibonacci relations, and the dependencies are pandas, numpy and requests.
3 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit e532650. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Ships script files (Python), which the agent can run.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
pipFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use pip, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Elliott Wave Signal Engine loads about 482 tokens when it runs, and up to ~962 if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 71 tokens; SKILL.md has 204 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

| Structure | Wave Count | Direction | Meaning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Impulse wave | 5 waves (1-2-3-4-5) | Trend-following | Main trend direction |
| Corrective wave | 3 waves (A-B-C) | Counter-trend | Pullback correction |
| Parameter | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| swing_window | 10 | Rolling window for swing-point detection |
| fib_tolerance | 0.15 | Tolerance for Fibonacci ratios |
| min_wave_bars | 5 | Minimum number of candles per wave |
Wave theory is highly subjective, and automatic counting can yield multiple interpretations. This implementation uses a "simplest effective single interpretation" strategy and would rather miss signals than misclassify them.

Elliott Wave Signal Engine fits situations like: backtesting a wave-based trend-top and correction-complete signal on price history; checking whether a price series fits a five-wave impulse followed by an A-B-C correction; adding an Elliott Wave rule to an existing signal engine.

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Elliott Wave Signal Engine needs Python for the scripts in its folder and the command-line tools its instructions call (pip). Our summary lists: Python with pandas, numpy and requests installed via pip.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use pip, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
