latex-conference-template-organizerCleans up a messy conference LaTeX template .zip into a tidy, Overleaf-ready project, after showing you the problems and a cleanup plan to approve.
Official conference templates often arrive with nested folders, sample text, instructional comments and unclear entry points. This skill unpacks the .zip into a temporary folder, identifies the main file (by common names such as main.tex or by searching for documentclass, asking you when several candidates exist), and sorts files into source, style, bibliography and image types.
It works in an analyze-then-confirm mode. The agent first reports what it found: scattered .tex files, file names or comments that mention sample or example content, and missing .sty or .cls files or wrong image and table paths. It then asks for optional conference details, with the submission link recommended so official requirements can be extracted, presents a cleanup plan and waits for your approval before changing anything. The excerpt is cut off at the execution step.
6 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 9037873. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are latex, bash and markdown).
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
LaTeX Conference Template Organizer loads about 3.5k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 62 tokens; SKILL.md has 660 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from Galaxy-Dawn/claude-scholar at commit 9037873, republished under its MIT licence (© Galaxy-Dawn). 660 words, ~3,533 tokens.

## Step 7: Cleanup and Output
```bash
# Clean up temporary files
rm -rf /tmp/latex-template-temp
# Output completion message
echo "Template cleanup complete! Output directory: output/"
echo "Please upload the output/ directory to Overleaf to test compilation."| Error Scenario | Handling Approach |
|---|---|
| Main file not found | List all .tex files, let user choose |
| Dependency file missing | Warn user, attempt to locate from template directory |
| Cannot extract conference info | Use default info from template, mark as [To be confirmed] |
| Website inaccessible | Fall back to template comments, prompt user to fill in manually |
| Extraction failed | Prompt user to check .zip file integrity |
| Conference | Document Class | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| KDD (ACM SIGKDD) | acmart | Anonymous submission requires nonacm option to remove footnotes |
| ACM Conferences | acmart | Requires anonymous mode \acmReview{anonymous} |
| CVPR/ICCV | cvpr | Two-column, strict page limits |
| NeurIPS | neurips_2025 | Anonymous review, no page limit |
| ICLR | iclr2025_conference | Two-column, requires session info |
| AAAI | aaai25 | Two-column, 8 pages + references |
KDD 2026 uses the ACM acmart template and requires special configuration for anonymous submission:
Cleans up a messy conference LaTeX template .zip into a tidy, Overleaf-ready project, after showing you the problems and a cleanup plan to approve. Official conference templates often arrive with nested folders, sample text, instructional comments and unclear entry points.tex or by searching for documentclass, asking you when several candidates exist), and sorts files into source, style, bibliography and image types.
LaTeX Conference Template Organizer fits situations like: preparing a conference submission template that came as a cluttered .zip; stripping sample content and instructional comments from an official LaTeX template; fixing missing style files or broken paths before uploading a template to Overleaf.
Run `npx skills add Galaxy-Dawn/claude-scholar --skill latex-conference-template-organizer -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/latex-conference-template-organizer in Galaxy-Dawn/claude-scholar) into .claude/skills/latex-conference-template-organizer in your project. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add Galaxy-Dawn/claude-scholar --skill latex-conference-template-organizer -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/latex-conference-template-organizer, .gemini/skills/latex-conference-template-organizer, .github/skills/latex-conference-template-organizer and .opencode/skills/latex-conference-template-organizer in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: LaTeX Conference Template Organizer is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: A shell with unzip, find and grep.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
LaTeX Conference Template Organizer is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 3.5k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 14k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
