parametric-3d-printingGenerates parametric, print-ready 3D models in Python and exports them as STL files sized to real connectors, devices and mounting hardware.
This skill writes parametric 3D models in CadQuery, a Python library built on the OpenCASCADE kernel, and exports them as STL files ready to slice. CadQuery is picked over alternatives because it installs through pip, offers a Pythonic API, and handles fillets, chamfers, booleans and assemblies well; setup needs Python 3.10 through 3.12 specifically because the kernel lacks newer wheels, with a conda-based fallback if the pip install fails.
Before writing any geometry, it searches the web for the real dimensions of any product the part has to fit - connector openings, phone or PCB measurements, screw sizes, standard component specs - rather than guessing, cross-checks at least two sources when precision matters, records the sourced numbers as comments next to the parameters, and adds a small clearance to external dimensions. A preview-analyze-iterate loop then renders the model offscreen so it can be checked without a display server, before moving on to slicing.
It is built around interfacing with real, physical products such as phone cases, charger mounts, PCB enclosures and cable adapters, where being off by even a millimeter or two can make the part unusable.

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Ships script files (Python, from the files we listed), which the agent can run.

Parametric 3D Printing with CadQuery loads about 5.3k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 213 tokens; SKILL.md has 2,176 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (CC-BY-NC-4.0) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 2,176 words (~5,340 tokens).
“This skill generates parametric 3D models using CadQuery (Python) and exports them as STL files ready for slicing. CadQuery is preferred because it installs via pip, has a Pythonic API, and handles complex geometry (fillets, chamfers, booleans, assemblies) better than…”

Parametric 3D Printing with CadQuery fits situations like: designing a 3D-printable bracket, mount or enclosure; modeling a part that has to fit a specific connector or device; generating an STL file from parametric Python code.
Run `npx skills add flowful-ai/cad-skill --skill parametric-3d-printing -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (the flowful-ai/cad-skill repository) into .claude/skills/parametric-3d-printing in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add flowful-ai/cad-skill --skill parametric-3d-printing -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (the flowful-ai/cad-skill repository) into .agents/skills/parametric-3d-printing in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add flowful-ai/cad-skill --skill parametric-3d-printing -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/parametric-3d-printing, .gemini/skills/parametric-3d-printing, .github/skills/parametric-3d-printing and .opencode/skills/parametric-3d-printing in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Parametric 3D Printing with CadQuery needs Python for the scripts in its folder and the command-line tools its instructions call (python3, pip and conda). Our summary lists: Python 3.10-3.12; CadQuery (OpenCASCADE-based); Web search for real-world part dimensions.
SKILL.md names 1 domain. In commands or code: github.com; the agent is likely to contact it when it follows the instructions. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Parametric 3D Printing with CadQuery is published under the CC-BY-NC-4.0 licence (from the LICENSE file in the skill folder).
About 5.3k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 21k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
