character-designBuilds consistent characters, reference and expression sheets, outfit variations and character-to-video shots with the genmedia CLI while keeping identity stable.
The goal here is consistency. The agent fixes a character anchor (age range, face shape, hair, eyes, build, posture and marks) and changes only the scene, expression, outfit, camera or action you asked for. It first collects only the missing inputs that affect identity or model choice: character type, style, needed outputs, reference images and how strict consistency must be, from exploratory up to production continuity.
Work runs through the genmedia command line. The agent looks up routed endpoint IDs, inspects each endpoint's schema and pricing before running it, uploads reference images, runs stills or sheets with download, and runs video generation asynchronously. Endpoints named in the input include openai/gpt-image-2, fal-ai/nano-banana-pro/edit and bytedance/seedance-2.0/image-to-video, and only schema-supported fields are used. Reference files cover the anchor system, prompt patterns and examples, and a companion model-routing skill supplies default endpoint choices.
5 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 9ca8504. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are bash).
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Character Design with genmedia loads about 1.3k tokens when it runs, and up to ~2.7k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 59 tokens; SKILL.md has 416 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Without a licence we can't republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 416 words (~1,287 tokens).
“Use this skill when the user wants to create, refine, or preserve a character. Load the reference files when needed:”

Builds consistent characters, reference and expression sheets, outfit variations and character-to-video shots with the genmedia CLI while keeping identity stable. The goal here is consistency. The agent fixes a character anchor (age range, face shape, hair, eyes, build, posture and marks) and changes only the scene, expression, outfit, camera or action you asked for.
Character Design with genmedia fits situations like: creating an original character with a consistent look; making reference or expression sheets for an existing character; producing outfit variations that keep the same face and build; editing a character image without changing the identity.
Run `npx skills add fal-ai-community/skills --skill character-design -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/character-design in fal-ai-community/skills) into .claude/skills/character-design in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add fal-ai-community/skills --skill character-design -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/character-design in fal-ai-community/skills) into .agents/skills/character-design in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add fal-ai-community/skills --skill character-design -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/character-design, .gemini/skills/character-design, .github/skills/character-design and .opencode/skills/character-design in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Character Design with genmedia is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: The genmedia CLI.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
No licence was found for Character Design with genmedia or its repository. Without one, default copyright applies: ask the author before reusing or redistributing it.
About 1.3k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 5.1k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 1.5k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
Skills that share tags, products or a category with Character Design with genmedia: Professional Media Prompts (agentscope-ai/QwenPaw, 36k stars), Seedance Storyboard Generator (liangdabiao/Seedance2-Storyboard-Generator, 2.6k stars), Forge Media Route Layer (0x0funky/agent-sprite-forge, 4.4k stars) and Seedance Storyboard in Shanghai Animation Style (liangdabiao/smy-seedance-storyboard, 138 stars).
