  • Asks to get changes ready for review

What it does

Merge Ready is an agent skill from every-app/open-seo. Get a branch ready for the maintainer's final review: review it for security, simplicity, and billing abuse, fix what's real, get checks passing, and open or update the PR. Use whenever the user says a feature, fix, or branch should be "merge ready", asks to get changes ready for review, or appends this to a build request ("build X and make it merge-ready").

Its SKILL.md is about 510 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Marketing & SEO. The repository describes itself as: Open source alternative to Semrush and Ahrefs. The licence is MIT.

When your agent uses it

  • The user says a feature
  • Branch should be merge ready
  • Asks to get changes ready for review
  • Appends this to a build request (build X and make it merge-ready)

Example prompts

  • “merge ready”
  • “build X and make it merge-ready”
  • “/merge-ready”

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 89e5a00. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

    Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

    • pnpm

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use pnpm, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Merge Ready loads about 512 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 93 tokens; SKILL.md has 264 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~93
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~512

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

metadata
internal: true

Get this branch ready for the maintainer's final review. If you were also asked to build something, build it first.

Fetch and merge origin/main if the branch is behind. Then review everything on the branch against it, including uncommitted and untracked files. Make sure you understand every product decision and change in functionality.

Is it secure?

Is it as simple as it can be? What can be deleted or simplified given the end state of the branch? Did an unlikely edge case lead to overengineering? We prefer to delete code.

Does it use APIs and SDKs (TanStack, DataForSEO, Autumn, Cloudflare) idiomatically? Watch for code that reinvents what they already do, works around limits they don't have, or pays for more than it needs. Check the docs only when something looks off.

Is there a significant way to abuse billing, like getting credits, paid features, or provider calls without paying? Ignore small leaks nobody would bother exploiting.

Beyond that, review it however you think best. Work out which parts could do the most damage if they're wrong and spend your time there. docs/maintainers/review-guidelines.md lists the repo's invariants and the things that look wrong but are intentional.

Fix what's real. Commit as you go. Get pnpm ci:check and pnpm test passing locally, then push. Those local runs stand in for CI, so don't wait for GitHub CI to finish.

Open or update the PR against main with a high-level description: what changed and why, what to look at first, and anything you left for the maintainer's judgment. No per-file changelog.

Never merge. The maintainer reviews last.
