xiaoyao-searchSearches local files from an agent through the XiaoyaoSearch MCP server, using semantic, full-text, hybrid, image-similarity and voice queries.
Written in Chinese, this skill exposes five search tools from the XiaoyaoSearch MCP server for finding local files. semantic_search matches natural-language descriptions with a BGE-M3 vector model, fulltext_search does exact keyword matching with Whoosh, hybrid_search fuses both with the RRF algorithm, image_search finds similar local images with CN-CLIP, and voice_search transcribes an audio file with FasterWhisper and then runs a semantic, full-text or hybrid search. Most tools take a query, a result limit of 1 to 100 that defaults to 20, a similarity threshold from 0.0 to 1.0 that defaults to 0.5, and an optional file type filter.
It requires the XiaoyaoSearch backend to be running, by default at 127.0.0.1 on port 8000, with the MCP feature enabled and an index already built. The agent discovers the tools over MCP and gets JSON results with totals and search time. Environment variables control the SSE endpoint, server name, default limit, default threshold and whether voice search is enabled, and a curl request to the /mcp endpoint tests the connection. Worked examples cover finding machine-learning documents, Python files containing async def, similar design drafts, a spoken request for last week's meeting notes, and a broad search on Vue 3 components.

XiaoyaoSearch Local File Search loads about 836 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 14 tokens; SKILL.md has 170 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 170 words (~836 tokens).

XiaoyaoSearch Local File Search fits situations like: finding local documents by describing them in natural language; searching for files that contain an exact keyword or code snippet; finding local images similar to a given picture; searching files by speaking the request.
Run `npx skills add dtsola/xiaoyaosearch --skill xiaoyao-search -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/xiaoyao-search in dtsola/xiaoyaosearch) into .claude/skills/xiaoyao-search in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add dtsola/xiaoyaosearch --skill xiaoyao-search -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/xiaoyao-search in dtsola/xiaoyaosearch) into .agents/skills/xiaoyao-search in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add dtsola/xiaoyaosearch --skill xiaoyao-search -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/xiaoyao-search, .gemini/skills/xiaoyao-search, .github/skills/xiaoyao-search and .opencode/skills/xiaoyao-search in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, XiaoyaoSearch Local File Search needs the command-line tools its instructions call (curl). Our summary lists: The XiaoyaoSearch backend running locally with MCP enabled; A completed search index.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use curl, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
XiaoyaoSearch Local File Search has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 836 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 3.3k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
