capOperates Cap, the screen recording and sharing tool, through its local MCP tools or cap command instead of browser automation: library, transcripts, comments and sharing.
For any Cap task, the agent goes to the local Cap MCP tools or the cap command first and does not open the dashboard or Cap Desktop through browser automation or computer-use tools. A browser is used only for an authentication or provider-approval URL that a Cap command returns, and you complete that step yourself. The agent starts by reading cap guide --json, uses --json output, and treats exit code 1 as a runtime failure and 2 as invalid usage.
Login uses cap auth login --json with the least-privileged creator profile by default, asking for admin or full only when needed, and CAP_AGENT_TOKEN overrides the stored credential for headless runs. Library commands list recordings, fetch metadata and fetch context including title, summary, chapters, transcript, comments, reactions, views and sharing, while wait commands only observe processing and never start transcription or other paid work. Large transcripts and recordings are streamed to disk, and for a password-protected recording you enter the password yourself in a secure terminal through the cap command, since the agent never asks for one.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit d327051. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are bash).
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names these keys or tokens, usually read from environment variables:
CAP_AGENT_TOKENCAP_API_KEYFrom names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Cap Screen Recording CLI loads about 1.7k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 105 tokens; SKILL.md has 870 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 870 words (~1,692 tokens).
“For every Cap task, use the local Cap MCP tools or cap CLI as the primary interface. Do not open, inspect, or control the Cap dashboard, a Cap browser tab, or Cap Desktop through browser automation or computer-use tools to…”
Just SKILL.md in apps/cli/skill/cap of CapSoftware/Cap.

Works out whether you need Zapier MCP, the SDK or the CLI, then walks through installing and verifying that one path step by step.
superset-sh/superset
Lists and calls the tools of connected integrations such as Linear, GitHub, Sentry or Notion through the superset mcp command, without storing a token on the machine.
CapSoftware/Cap
Builds a Cap feature in an isolated Git worktree with disposable dev resources, verification, a recorded demo and a neutral pull request, started with /building.
CapSoftware/Cap
Turns any URL into a short cinematic product-demo video on macOS, scouting the page, recording it with virtual input, then treating the clip with Cap's 3D camera and music.

Cap Screen Recording CLI fits situations like: looking up a Cap recording, its transcript or chapters; reading comments, reactions or views on a shared recording; downloading a recording or transcript to disk; checking sharing, analytics, organization or storage details in Cap.
Run `npx skills add CapSoftware/Cap --skill cap -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (apps/cli/skill/cap in CapSoftware/Cap) into .claude/skills/cap in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add CapSoftware/Cap --skill cap -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (apps/cli/skill/cap in CapSoftware/Cap) into .agents/skills/cap in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add CapSoftware/Cap --skill cap -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/cap, .gemini/skills/cap, .github/skills/cap and .opencode/skills/cap in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Cap Screen Recording CLI needs credentials named CAP_AGENT_TOKEN and CAP_API_KEY. Our summary lists: The cap command from Cap Desktop; A Cap login, or the CAP_AGENT_TOKEN variable for headless use.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Cap Screen Recording CLI has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 1.7k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 6.8k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
