writing-adrsWrites Architecture Decision Records with title, status, context, decision, rationale and consequences for significant technical choices, kept short and numbered.
An Architecture Decision Record captures one important decision together with its context and consequences. The skill lists when to write one, such as choosing a framework or library, selecting a database or storage solution, defining API patterns, setting coding conventions, making infrastructure decisions, or any decision that affects multiple components.
The structure has a short title, a status of proposed, accepted, rejected, deprecated or superseded, then context describing the situation and forces, the decision, the rationale, and consequences covering trade-offs in both directions. A worked example records a decision to use PostgreSQL as the primary database.
Five habits are recommended: keep each record to one or two pages, write it at decision time rather than after the fact, include the alternatives considered, update the status when a record is deprecated or superseded, and number records in sequence, as ADR-001 and ADR-002.
5 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 6436a20. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are markdown).
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Architecture Decision Record Writer loads about 529 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 41 tokens; SKILL.md has 154 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Without a licence we can't republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 154 words (~529 tokens).
“An Architecture Decision Record captures an important architectural decision along with its context and consequences.”

mistralai/mistral-vibe
Guides feature work in the Mistral Vibe Python CLI so each change lands in the right module and matches the project's architecture decision records.
first-fluke/oh-my-agent
Evaluates system boundaries and tradeoffs and writes architecture recommendations, option comparisons or ADRs, with a Mermaid diagram when structure changes.
Jeffallan/claude-skills
Guides system architecture design end to end: gathering requirements, matching them to a pattern, documenting trade-offs with ADRs, and reviewing.
Light0305/Light-skills
Evidence-based workflow for designing or modernizing a software system: current-state inventory, options, API and schema contracts, migration plans, ADRs and verification.
AratKruglik/claude-laravel
A skill your agent uses when designing new system architecture, reviewing existing designs, or making architectural decisions.
extra-org/extra
Guard the project's architecture invariants. An agent skill from extra-org/extra.
dralgorhythm/claude-agentic-framework
Rules for several agents sharing one repository: an orchestrator tracks work in two tiers, workers write to scratch files, and every handoff leaves a pointer to an artifact.
dralgorhythm/claude-agentic-framework
Finds security threats in a design with a STRIDE pass per component, rates severity and records fixes, with extra checks for AI agent and tool risks.
dralgorhythm/claude-agentic-framework
Runs a user-invoked, swarm-style audit of a whole codebase for SOLID and DRY violations, code smells, complexity, dead code and pattern consistency, with a prioritized report.
dralgorhythm/claude-agentic-framework
Sequences safe dependency upgrades: read the changelog, verify the version exists upstream, pin it, and keep major bumps in separate commits behind a full gate run.
dralgorhythm/claude-agentic-framework
Produces this framework's ADR and system-design artifacts from bundled templates with trade-off analysis.
dralgorhythm/claude-agentic-framework
Lands in-flight work: quality gates, atomic commit, rebase, push, verified remote sync, then handoff — a user-invoked finish-line workflow.

Writes Architecture Decision Records with title, status, context, decision, rationale and consequences for significant technical choices, kept short and numbered. An Architecture Decision Record captures one important decision together with its context and consequences. The skill lists when to write one, such as choosing a framework or library, selecting a database or storage solution, defining API patterns, setting coding conventions, making infrastructure decisions, or any decision that affects multiple components.
Architecture Decision Record Writer fits situations like: recording why a framework, database or API pattern was chosen; documenting a decision that affects several components; marking an older decision as deprecated or superseded.
Run `npx skills add dralgorhythm/claude-agentic-framework --skill writing-adrs -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.claude/skills/architecture/writing-adrs in dralgorhythm/claude-agentic-framework) into .claude/skills/writing-adrs in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add dralgorhythm/claude-agentic-framework --skill writing-adrs -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.claude/skills/architecture/writing-adrs in dralgorhythm/claude-agentic-framework) into .agents/skills/writing-adrs in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add dralgorhythm/claude-agentic-framework --skill writing-adrs -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/writing-adrs, .gemini/skills/writing-adrs, .github/skills/writing-adrs and .opencode/skills/writing-adrs in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Architecture Decision Record Writer is instructions for the agent only.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
No licence was found for Architecture Decision Record Writer or its repository. Without one, default copyright applies: ask the author before reusing or redistributing it.
About 529 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.1k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
