At a glance

Launches a standalone Chrome or Chromium in a Daytona sandbox and drives it over CDP for web sign-in, OAuth and other flows that should bypass the Electron app.

  • Signing in to a web app from a Daytona sandbox without using the Electron window
  • SKILL.md covers Launch Chrome, Get The CDP URL, Verify It Is Not Electron and Drive A Web Flow, plus 2 more sections
  • Calls curl and pnpm
  • Completing OAuth approval pages from a mock or real provider

What it does

The agent starts Chromium in the sandbox's display with a remote debugging port through `daytona exec`, trying google-chrome variants if chromium is missing and installing it only when needed. It gets the debugging URL with `daytona preview-url` on port 9222 and confirms the target with `curl` against the JSON list endpoint. Any coded flow must assert that the user agent contains Chrome or Chromium and does not contain Electron.

Web flows live in `evals/flows` files whose cdpTarget names a stable title or URL fragment, and they are driven with `ctx.clickText`, `ctx.fill`, `ctx.waitFor` and `ctx.screenshot` before running `pnpm evals` with the CDP URL. Sign-in or navigation is not treated as done until the post-action URL, a visible assertion and the frame confirm it. Typical uses are signing into Den Web while Electron stays on its handoff screen, completing OAuth approvals, and configuring web-only admin state. A `pkill` command stops the browser afterward.

When your agent uses it

  • Signing in to a web app from a Daytona sandbox without using the Electron window
  • Completing OAuth approval pages from a mock or real provider
  • Comparing what a regular browser shows against the Electron app's behavior

Example prompts

  • “Start standalone Chrome in the sandbox and sign into Den Web through CDP.”
  • “Check that the browser we are driving is Chromium and not Electron before running the OAuth flow.”
  • “Stop the Chrome process in the Daytona sandbox when the flow is done.”

Requirements

  • The Daytona CLI and a running sandbox
  • Chromium or Google Chrome in the sandbox
  • pnpm to run the evals

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 71a74ad. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

    Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

    • curl
    • pnpm

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use curl and pnpm, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Daytona Chrome CDP loads about 582 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 52 tokens; SKILL.md has 205 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~52
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~582

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

SKILL.md

Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 205 words (~582 tokens).

“Use this skill when a Daytona sandbox needs a normal Chrome/Chromium browser in the XFCE display, separate from the Electron app. This is useful for Den Web sign-in, OAuth provider setup, browser-only admin flows, and checking what a user would…”
