Controls an Android device over ADB in a loop of screenshot, vision analysis, tap and verification, so the agent acts on real on-screen coordinates.
Lets a coding agent list, run, pause, resume or cancel natural-language tasks on an Android phone through the OpenGUI backend instead of raw ADB commands.

open-gui-remote-controlLets a coding agent list, run, pause, resume or cancel natural-language tasks on an Android phone through the OpenGUI backend instead of raw ADB commands.
Keeps the agent off direct `adb shell input` scripting, routing every phone action through a server CLI or REST API that talks to the OpenGUI backend's task and execution services. A runnable OpenGUI checkout is required first, used through its repository CLI, run as `cd server && pnpm opengui` with the desired subcommand, and the `--json` flag whenever the agent itself will parse the result rather than a person reading it.
Before running anything, the skill decides between a local or a remote workspace: local when the phone is connected by USB to the same machine and the agent has terminal access there, remote only when the user explicitly asks for a remote host that can reach the device or a device bridge and whose backend URL the Android client can reach. A separate bootstrap skill handles installing OpenGUI from scratch; this one takes over once the backend and Android client are already running.
Device presence from a devices listing is treated as standby only, since execution can still fail from model configuration, missing Android permissions, app state or the device's own lifecycle, so the agent is told to ask the user only for physical phone actions, permissions, or missing secrets rather than things it can run itself.
7 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit f19a920. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
pnpmadbgitcurlFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use pnpm, git and curl, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
OpenGUI Phone Remote Control loads about 2.6k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 76 tokens; SKILL.md has 1,179 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.
If `start.sh` creates `.env` and exits, ask only for the missing model keys required for execution, then run it again.Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 1,179 words (~2,594 tokens).
“Use this skill when an AI coding agent such as Claude Code, Codex, or OpenCode needs to operate an Android phone through OpenGUI.”

OpenGUI Phone Remote Control fits situations like: running a natural-language task on an Android phone through OpenGUI; checking the status of, pausing, or canceling an OpenGUI execution; listing which Android devices are currently online in OpenGUI; deciding whether OpenGUI should run locally or on a remote host.

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, OpenGUI Phone Remote Control needs the command-line tools its instructions call (pnpm, adb, git and curl). Our summary lists: A runnable OpenGUI checkout (server and client); pnpm; An Android device reachable by the OpenGUI backend.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use git and curl, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found notes only (mentions a .env file), nothing it rates as a warning. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
OpenGUI Phone Remote Control has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 2.6k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 10k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
