langsmith-fetchDebugs LangChain and LangGraph agents by pulling recent execution traces with the langsmith-fetch CLI and reporting errors, tool calls, timings and token use.
Several workflows are built around the `langsmith-fetch` command. A quick pass fetches traces from the last few minutes and summarizes how many were found, which failed, which tools ran, how long they took and how many tokens they used. A deep dive takes one trace ID as JSON and reports the agent's goal, the ordered tool calls and their results, any errors, the root cause and a suggested fix.
It can also export a debug session into a timestamped folder and run a dedicated error-detection pass over recent traces. Setup is `pip install langsmith-fetch` plus the `LANGSMITH_API_KEY` and `LANGSMITH_PROJECT` environment variables. It applies when you ask what went wrong, which tools were called, how memory was used or how an agent performed.
6 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit be2a406. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

LangSmith Trace Debugging loads about 2.7k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 88 tokens; SKILL.md has 626 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Without a licence we can't republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 626 words (~2,703 tokens).

LangSmith Trace Debugging fits situations like: finding out why a LangChain or LangGraph agent run failed; reviewing which tools an agent called and in what order; checking token usage and execution time of recent runs; saving a set of traces as a debug session.

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add ComposioHQ/awesome-claude-skills --skill langsmith-fetch -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/langsmith-fetch, .gemini/skills/langsmith-fetch, .github/skills/langsmith-fetch and .opencode/skills/langsmith-fetch in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, LangSmith Trace Debugging needs the command-line tools its instructions call (pip) and credentials named LANGSMITH_API_KEY and LANGCHAIN_API_KEY. Our summary lists: The `langsmith-fetch` CLI (`pip install langsmith-fetch`); `LANGSMITH_API_KEY` and `LANGSMITH_PROJECT` environment variables.
SKILL.md names 3 domains. As links in the text: github.com, smith.langchain.com and docs.langchain.com. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
No licence was found for LangSmith Trace Debugging or its repository. Without one, default copyright applies: ask the author before reusing or redistributing it.
About 2.7k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 11k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
