cap-demoTurns any URL into a short cinematic product-demo video on macOS, scouting the page, recording it with virtual input, then treating the clip with Cap's 3D camera and music.
Given a URL, the pipeline scouts the page headlessly, drives a headed browser with CDP-based virtual mouse and keyboard input so the user's real cursor is never touched, records with Cap's CLI, then treats the recording with Cap's 3D camera, a brand-matched background gradient, a synthetic cursor and music, exporting an mp4. It is macOS-only for now, assumes Apple Silicon, and resolves a cached Playwright Chromium under the user's Library caches.
Running it needs Node 18 or newer with playwright-core installed once inside the skill directory, Python 3 and ffmpeg or ffprobe on PATH, and the cap CLI (Cap Desktop) on PATH with macOS screen-recording permission granted to it. The one-liner cap-demo <url> writes output to a default temp folder or a chosen output directory.
Two modes trade speed for polish: a deterministic mode with fixed heuristics that scores the best call to action, picks click-through versus scroll, and paints a gradient and music choice from the page's own colors for roughly 70 percent quality batch runs, and an agent-driven recipe that frame-QAs each stage, sets the brand color by eye, matches export fps to the real capture rate and reshoots when needed for about 95 percent quality.

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit d327051. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

Ships script files (JavaScript and Python), which the agent can run.

Cap Cinematic Demo Generator loads about 2.4k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 45 tokens; SKILL.md has 1,266 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 1,266 words (~2,392 tokens).
“Give it a URL, get back a short, cinematic product-demo video. The pipeline scouts the page headlessly, shoots a headed browser with virtual input only (CDP mouse/keyboard — the user's real cursor is never touched), records with Cap's CLI, then…”

Cap Cinematic Demo Generator fits situations like: generating a quick cinematic demo video of a website for a landing page or launch post; batch-producing simple product demo videos without watching every frame; making a higher-polish agent-reviewed demo video for a specific page.
Run `npx skills add CapSoftware/Cap --skill cap-demo -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (apps/cli/skill/cap-demo in CapSoftware/Cap) into .claude/skills/cap-demo in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add CapSoftware/Cap --skill cap-demo -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (apps/cli/skill/cap-demo in CapSoftware/Cap) into .agents/skills/cap-demo in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add CapSoftware/Cap --skill cap-demo -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/cap-demo, .gemini/skills/cap-demo, .github/skills/cap-demo and .opencode/skills/cap-demo in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Cap Cinematic Demo Generator needs JavaScript and Python for the scripts in its folder and the command-line tools its instructions call (node, ffmpeg, python3, npx and ffprobe). Our summary lists: macOS on Apple Silicon; Node.js 18 or newer with playwright-core; python3; ffmpeg and ffprobe; The cap CLI with screen-recording permission.
SKILL.md names 1 domain. As links in the text: cap.so. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Cap Cinematic Demo Generator has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 2.4k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 9.6k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
