Icsme Submission is an agent skill from brycewang-stanford/Awesome-Journal-Skills. Use when auditing an IEEE ICSME research-track submission for EasyChair readiness, covering the abstract-then-paper two-step deadline, the IEEEtran two-column 10+2 page budget, double-anonymous review, the open-science data-availability expectation, and desk-reject triage before the AoE cutoff.
Its SKILL.md is about 1.6k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Research & Science, covering Reproducible research. The repository describes itself as: Journal-specific Claude Code/Codex skill packs covering mainstream journals — AER, QJE, Nature, Cell, 管理世界, 经济研究 & 200+ more — your fast track to getting published. | 覆盖主流期刊的… The licence is MIT.
6 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 932eb23. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

Shell commands in SKILL.md call:

No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Icsme Submission loads about 1.6k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 78 tokens; SKILL.md has 728 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

.claude/skills/icsme-submission/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).Run this audit before uploading to the ICSME EasyChair site. ICSME research papers are IEEE
conference papers that publish in IEEE Xplore, judged in a single double-anonymous round.
Every number below was read from the ICSME 2026 research-papers call on 2026-07-09 via search
renderings of the conf.researchr.org and EasyChair URLs (see resources/official-source-map.md);

ICSME separates abstract registration from full-paper upload, and both are AoE:
Register with the real title and abstract, not a placeholder — the abstract drives reviewer bidding on EasyChair, and a registered abstract that diverges from the final paper worsens your PC match and can strand the submission if you miss the abstract cutoff.
\documentclass[conference]{IEEEtran} for
LaTeX; Word users take the US-Letter IEEE template. This is the IEEE path — do not carry an
ACM acmart single-column habit over from ICSE-adjacent ACM venues or from FSE.ICSME runs double-anonymous review: author identity must be hidden from reviewers. Because maintenance/evolution papers lean on named subject systems, mined repositories, and tools, the leak surface is wide:
# Mechanical pass on the submission PDF and any anonymized artifact archive
pdfinfo paper.pdf | grep -Ei 'author|creator|producer'
pdftotext paper.pdf - | grep -nEi 'github\.com/[a-z0-9-]+|gitlab|zenodo\.org/record|acknowledg|grant' | head
unzip -l artifact.zip | grep -Ei '\.git/|\.DS_Store|/home/|/Users/' | head
grep -rni 'university\|@[a-z0-9.]*\.edu\|our (tool|group|lab)' artifact/ --include='*.md' | headThe ICSME-specific leaks: a study that names your own system as the subject, a mined corpus that is obviously your public GitHub org, a tool named after your lab, commit metadata inside a zipped repository, and a data-availability link pointing at a personal account. Refer to your own prior maintenance studies in the third person, and re-host artifacts behind an anonymizing service before upload.
ICSME's ROSE-Festival culture makes open science the default expectation, even at review time:
| Finding at audit time | Severity | Real fix |
|---|---|---|
| Main text over 10 pages (figures/appendices counted) | Desk-reject-grade | Cut or move to the artifact; the 2 reference pages do not absorb body text |
| Template altered (margins, shrunk font, wrong class) | Named desk-reject ground | Recompile clean IEEEtran conference, recover space editorially |
| Identity leak in PDF, artifact, subject-system choice, or tool name | Anonymity violation | Re-anonymize and re-host; scrub PDF metadata |
| Abstract not registered by the earlier date | No submission slot exists | Nothing fixes this post-AoE — calendar it now |
| No availability statement, no artifact | Scored against the paper under ROSE norms | Add the statement + an anonymized package |
| Same study under review elsewhere | Dual-submission exposure | Withdraw one venue; verify the current concurrent-submission wording |

Icsme Submission is an agent skill from brycewang-stanford/Awesome-Journal-Skills. Icsme Submission fits situations like: auditing an IEEE ICSME research-track submission for EasyChair readiness; covering the abstract-then-paper two-step deadline; the IEEEtran two-column 10+2 page budget; double-anonymous review.
Run `npx skills add brycewang-stanford/Awesome-Journal-Skills --skill icsme-submission -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (ICSME-Skills/skills/icsme-submission in brycewang-stanford/Awesome-Journal-Skills) into .claude/skills/icsme-submission in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add brycewang-stanford/Awesome-Journal-Skills --skill icsme-submission -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (ICSME-Skills/skills/icsme-submission in brycewang-stanford/Awesome-Journal-Skills) into .agents/skills/icsme-submission in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add brycewang-stanford/Awesome-Journal-Skills --skill icsme-submission -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/icsme-submission, .gemini/skills/icsme-submission, .github/skills/icsme-submission and .opencode/skills/icsme-submission in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Icsme Submission needs the command-line tools its instructions call (pdftotext).
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Icsme Submission is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1.6k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 6.4k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
