local-deploymentDeploy one or more locally built Bionic services into the user's k3d cluster.
Local Deployment is an agent skill from bionic-gpt/bionic-gpt. Deploy one or more locally built Bionic services into the user's k3d cluster. Trigger only when the user explicitly asks for a local, k3d, or Kubernetes deployment.
Its SKILL.md is about 540 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 3 other files (for example `deploy-to-k3d-locally.sh`).
It sits in DevOps & Cloud, covering Deployment and Container orchestration. It works with Kubernetes. The repository describes itself as: Bionic is sovereign Agentic AI for the enterprise — Runs on-premise and can securely work with your sensitive data and systems. The licence is Apache-2.0.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit c155c00. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Ships script files (Shell), which the agent can run.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
bashkubectlapt-getFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use kubectl, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Local Deployment loads about 540 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 45 tokens; SKILL.md has 242 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.
opment. It may install `iproute2` using `sudo apt-get`; review its effectsAutomated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from bionic-gpt/bionic-gpt at commit c155c00, republished under its Apache-2.0 licence (© bionic-gpt). 242 words, ~540 tokens.
.claude/skills/local-deployment/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder). This skill also uses 3 other files; get the full folder from GitHub.Use this skill for an explicit request to deploy Bionic services locally or to the k3d development cluster.
Run the bundled script from the repository root:
bash .agents/skills/local-deployment/deploy-to-k3d-locally.sh [service ...]Service names match spec.services in the StackApp. Pass several names to
deploy them together, for example web cli-gateway; omitting names deploys
web. The script builds each local Cargo binary, imports its image into
k3d-bionic, patches that service, and waits for its rollout. Web assets and
the CLI gateway's Typst runtime are packaged automatically.
Web deployments enable Bionic debug logging through LOG_LEVEL and targeted
Rig request and stream tracing through RIG_LOG.
Prerequisites:
k3d-bionic cluster exists.k3d-k3d-bionic context.bionic-gpt namespace and StackApp are available. Before deployment, ensure the default kubeconfig has a reachable API server address for the current host. If the context is missing or the API server is unreachable, run the repository's local kubeconfig setup script:
bash .agents/skills/k3d-environment/get-config.shThis writes/merges the k3d-bionic kubeconfig, replaces loopback/wildcard
addresses with the host gateway, and disables TLS verification for local
development. It may install iproute2 using sudo apt-get; review its effects
before running it on a new machine. Then run the deployment script above.
Inspect web traces after deployment with:
kubectl logs deployment/bionic-gpt --namespace bionic-gpt --tail=200Look for agent_runtime debug events, outgoing requests under
rig::completions, and incoming SSE frames under rig::streaming. These
settings are applied by the local deployment script only and are not added to
production StackApp manifests.

Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Local Deployment needs a shell for the scripts in its folder and the command-line tools its instructions call (bash, kubectl and apt-get). Our summary lists: A Bash shell; Docker.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found notes only (runs commands with sudo), nothing it rates as a warning. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Local Deployment is published under the Apache-2.0 licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 540 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.2k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
