What it does

Memorix Mini Skills is an agent skill from AVIDS2/memorix. Use when durable project knowledge, gotchas, workflows, or repeated fixes should become reusable agent guidance instead of ordinary memory.

Its SKILL.md is about 400 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Agent Workflows. It works with Model Context Protocol. The repository describes itself as: Open-source cross-agent memory layer for coding agents via MCP. Compatible with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, Antigravity, OpenClaw, Hermes Agent, Oh-my-Pi… The licence is Apache-2.0.

When your agent uses it

  • Durable project knowledge
  • Repeated fixes should become reusable agent guidance instead of ordinary memory

Example prompts

  • “/memorix-mini-skills”

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit af25502. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Memorix Mini Skills loads about 399 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 40 tokens; SKILL.md has 174 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~40
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~399

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Memorix Mini-Skills

Promote memories into mini-skills only when they are reusable instructions, not just historical notes.

The standard setup uses the lite MCP profile. memorix_skills and memorix_promote are full-profile tools, so use the CLI fallback unless the current server was explicitly started with MEMORIX_MODE=full or --mode full. Do not probe hidden MCP tools repeatedly.

Promote When

  • The knowledge has been proven by repeated observations or a high-value fix.
  • It changes how future agents should act.
  • It is specific enough to be actionable and general enough to reuse.

Do Not Promote

  • Command logs, probes, stale memories, one-off status notes, or unverified guesses.
  • Anything that should expire after the current task.
