pptxCreates, edits, reads and validates .pptx and .potx files, using pptxgenjs for new decks and direct XML edits for existing ones, with helper scripts for thumbnails and checks.
A .pptx is a ZIP archive of XML, and the skill picks an approach by task. New decks are written as a `pptxgenjs` script; existing decks or template-based builds are unzipped, edited under `ppt/slides/` and zipped again; reading uses `markitdown` for a block per slide, with a labeled thumbnail grid for visual review. Bundled scripts duplicate slides with all the package bookkeeping, delete slides, media and relationships that are no longer referenced, validate schema, relationships, content types, charts and slides, and convert to PDF through a LibreOffice wrapper.
A list of pptxgenjs gotchas covers the mistakes that corrupt or hide content: set the layout before adding slides, since the default canvas is the 16:9 size of 10 by 5.625 inches and coordinates past the edge are written but not visible, write hex colors without `#` and without alpha digits, and use `transparency` for fills and `opacity` for shadows because each is ignored on the other. Template-derived decks should be validated with `--original` so the template's own errors are not blamed on the new deck. The files are under a proprietary licence.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 683bc88. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

PowerPoint Decks loads about 5.2k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 184 tokens; SKILL.md has 2,574 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.
Its licence (Proprietary) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 2,574 words (~5,162 tokens).

PowerPoint Decks fits situations like: building a pitch deck or presentation from scratch; editing the text or layout of an existing .pptx; extracting the text of every slide from a deck; combining or splitting slide files.
Run `npx skills add anthropics/skills --skill pptx -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/pptx in anthropics/skills) into .claude/skills/pptx in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add anthropics/skills --skill pptx -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/pptx in anthropics/skills) into .agents/skills/pptx in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add anthropics/skills --skill pptx -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/pptx, .gemini/skills/pptx, .github/skills/pptx and .opencode/skills/pptx in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, PowerPoint Decks needs Python for the scripts in its folder and the command-line tools its instructions call (python, markitdown, npm, python3 and pdftoppm). Our summary lists: Node.js with `pptxgenjs`, for creating decks; Python, for the bundled scripts; LibreOffice, for PDF conversion; `markitdown`, for reading slide text.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use npm, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. The check reads SKILL.md only: the scripts in the folder are not scanned, so read them before running anything.
PowerPoint Decks carries a proprietary licence (declared in SKILL.md). It is published on GitHub, but it is not open source: read the licence file before using or sharing it.
About 5.2k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 21k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
