metabot-teamDocuments the metabot teams command surface for creating durable teams, spawning teammates, dispatching tasks and inspecting their runs across engine sessions.
A Team is modeled as agents plus messages plus tasks plus runs: agents keep a stable team identity across separate engine sessions, messages are the normal conversational handoff, tasks record durable assignment, dependencies, status and result, and runs record each individual execution with its output, failure, retry or cancellation state; dispatching the same agent twice creates independent tasks and runs rather than reusing one. Inspecting a team uses status, agent-list and task-list commands with a summary or plain flag for concise output, since the default output is JSON.
Creating and dispatching work uses a create command, a spawn command with a role and prompt, and a dispatch command that creates the task, message and run projection the supervisor reads from; a teammate's final response returns through team state and the configured display destination. The default maximum parallel runs per agent is four, configurable with an environment variable. Run statuses are running, completed, failed and stopped, and the skill is explicit that team status and cards are only projections of the local team store, so bus or inbox delivery never gives a remote worker access to the sender's own store.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 916637e. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

MetaBot Agent Teams CLI loads about 693 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 41 tokens; SKILL.md has 233 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

MetaBot Agent Teams CLI fits situations like: creating a durable MetaBot team and spawning teammates into it; dispatching a task to a teammate and checking its run status; inspecting a team's tasks and runs across sessions.
Run `npx skills add xvirobotics/metabot --skill metabot-team -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (packages/skills/metabot-team in xvirobotics/metabot) into .claude/skills/metabot-team in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add xvirobotics/metabot --skill metabot-team -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (packages/skills/metabot-team in xvirobotics/metabot) into .agents/skills/metabot-team in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add xvirobotics/metabot --skill metabot-team -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/metabot-team, .gemini/skills/metabot-team, .github/skills/metabot-team and .opencode/skills/metabot-team in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: MetaBot Agent Teams CLI is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: The metabot CLI.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
MetaBot Agent Teams CLI is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 693 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.8k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
