What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit d398529. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Onboarding loads about 385 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 23 tokens; SKILL.md has 221 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~23
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~385

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

description
Set up the standalone RemCTL desktop plugin and its local Apple Reminders access.

Use this plugin's RemCTL tools. Never route this plugin through Mac Remote or any other remote adapter.

  1. Call doctor and read access.effective. The signed RemCTL Capability Host owns the macOS permissions. Never tell users to grant access to Python, Terminal, or Codex.
  2. If the host is missing, explain that RemCTL itself must be installed first: the release download, or ./install.sh --from-source from the repository. If access is blocked, name the missing permission and tell the user to run remctl onboard in Terminal. Do not say setup succeeded until doctor reports ready.
  3. Call open_workspace. Point the user to RemCTL's settings in the workspace, where they can pick a default list for new reminders and turn on 'Advanced Reminders features' for sections, tags, templates, and other private ReminderKit features. Mention that those features use private Apple APIs that can change with macOS updates. You have no tool to change these settings; the user changes them.
  4. Explain in one sentence that selecting reminders and choosing Attach shares only those reminders with the conversation. The workspace is desktop-only.

If Codex also shows a separate RemCTL connection from an older remctl mcp install, or 'Reminders' is missing from the sidebar, tell the user to remove that connection with remctl mcp remove --client codex and restart Codex. That leaves other apps' connections alone.
