q-infographicsConverts a report or other document into a business story and then an infographic image, pausing for your review after each step.
You give the agent a source document and it runs a three-stage pipeline. First the file is converted to Markdown with markitdown and the opening lines are shown to you. Next `gen_story.py` asks Gemini to write a business story from that text, using the prompt template in `references/story.txt`. Finally `gen_image.py` renders the story as an infographic with the template in `references/image.txt`.
Images come from GPT Image 2 by default, which needs an `OPENAI_API_KEY`; setting `IMAGE_MODEL=gemini` or passing `--model gemini` switches to a Gemini image model that needs a `GEMINI_API_KEY`. Story writing always uses Gemini. The agent stops after each step for your approval, saves the result under the source file's name with an `_INFO` suffix, and overlays a logo from `assets/Logo_Q.png` in the bottom-right corner.
3 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit d8aaee7. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Ships 2 files in scripts/ (Python), which the agent can run.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
markitdownpythonpipFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use pip, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names these keys or tokens, usually read from environment variables:
GEMINI_API_KEYOPENAI_API_KEYFrom names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Q-Infographics loads about 814 tokens when it runs, and up to ~2.7k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 39 tokens; SKILL.md has 278 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.
Load keys from `.env`:export $(cat /path/to/.env | xargs)Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.

Q-Infographics fits situations like: turning a long report into a one-page visual summary; producing a business story from a PDF, Word file or plain text; making an infographic for a presentation from existing source text.
Run `npx skills add TyrealQ/q-skills --skill q-infographics -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/q-infographics in TyrealQ/q-skills) into .claude/skills/q-infographics in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add TyrealQ/q-skills --skill q-infographics -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/q-infographics in TyrealQ/q-skills) into .agents/skills/q-infographics in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add TyrealQ/q-skills --skill q-infographics -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/q-infographics, .gemini/skills/q-infographics, .github/skills/q-infographics and .opencode/skills/q-infographics in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Q-Infographics needs Python for the scripts in its folder, the command-line tools its instructions call (markitdown, python and pip) and credentials named GEMINI_API_KEY and OPENAI_API_KEY. Our summary lists: Python with openai, google-genai, Pillow and markitdown installed; An `OPENAI_API_KEY` for the default image model; A `GEMINI_API_KEY` for story generation.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use pip, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found notes only (mentions a .env file), nothing it rates as a warning. It is not a guarantee. The check reads SKILL.md only: the scripts in the folder are not scanned, so read them before running anything.
Q-Infographics is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 814 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 3.3k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 1.9k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
Skills that share tags, products or a category with Q-Infographics: Markitdown (aipoch/medical-research-skills, 1.9k stars), Forge Media Route Layer (0x0funky/agent-sprite-forge, 4.4k stars), 2D Sprite Generator (0x0funky/agent-sprite-forge, 4.4k stars) and Generate Meme Gif Pack (lisamsung/agent-meme-forge, 104 stars). The comparison table on this page puts their stars, adoption, token cost, safety result and licence side by side.
