Orchestrate is an agent skill from softspark/ai-toolkit. Coordinates multiple specialized agents in parallel. Triggers: orchestrate, multi-agent, parallel agents, coordinate agents.
Its SKILL.md is about 920 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Agent Workflows, covering Subagents and Multi-agent orchestration. The repository describes itself as: Professional-grade AI coding toolkit: 94 skills, 44 agents, multi-platform (Claude, Cursor, Windsurf, Copilot, Gemini, Cline, Roo Code, Aider, Augment, Antigravity, Codex CLI… The licence is Apache-2.0.
3 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit d64db2b. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:
BashReadWriteEditGlobGrepAgentTeamCreateTeamDeleteSendMessage…and 6 more on the same allowed-tools line.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are markdown).
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Orchestrate loads about 917 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 34 tokens; SKILL.md has 323 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.
allowed-tools: Bash, Read, Write, Edit, Glob, Grep, Agent, TeamCreate, TeamDelete, SendMessage, TaskCreate, TaskLisAutomated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from softspark/ai-toolkit at commit d64db2b, republished under its Apache-2.0 licence (© softspark). 323 words, ~917 tokens.

<!-- CLAUDE_CODE_ONLY_START -->
Only in Claude Code, apply the model-routing-patterns skill when choosing
executors or creating agent definitions. Delegate to codex:codex-rescue only
when its plugin is installed, enabled and callable in this session. Otherwise
use the installed native agents and their configured models. A context without
the Agent tool returns the dispatch decision to its supervisor; it does not
invent a tool or bypass the client. Preserve explicit user choices and verify
actual completion before accepting a delegated result.
<!-- CLAUDE_CODE_ONLY_END -->
When the Agent tool is available, decompose the task and delegate owned work to real agents. The supervisor integrates and verifies their results. If the runtime has no delegation support, do the authorized work in the current session and report that limitation. Never invent agent calls or present role-play as delegation.
Analyze the task and identify 3–6 sub-domains (e.g. backend, frontend, security, testing, docs). Define clear file ownership per domain so agents don't conflict.
Present the decomposition and obtain any approval not already covered by the user's instructions. Preserve approval already given for the task.
When available, call the Agent tool for independent sub-domains in parallel,
within the runtime's concurrency and nesting limits. Execute dependent tasks in
order and use the current-session fallback when delegation is unavailable.
Example for a feature implementation task:
Agent(subagent_type="backend-specialist", prompt="...", ...)
Agent(subagent_type="frontend-specialist", prompt="...", ...)
Agent(subagent_type="test-engineer", prompt="...", ...)
Agent(subagent_type="security-auditor", prompt="...", ...)Each agent prompt MUST include:
After all agents complete, generate the Orchestration Report combining their findings.

getpaseo/paseo
Launches one separate agent through Paseo to give a second opinion on the current task, with a self-contained briefing and no permission to edit files.
openobserve/openobserve
Splits a change into planner, coder and independent reviewer roles: you confirm a spec, a subagent implements it, and a separate reviewer checks each round's local WIP commit.
revfactory/harness
Designs a project-specific agent harness: defines specialist agents, writes the skills they follow, picks an execution mode and model for each, and keeps the setup maintained.
win4r/ClawTeam-OpenClaw
Launches a swarm of specialist Hermes agents in git-worktree-isolated tmux windows with a kanban board and file-based inboxes, using built-in templates like hedge-fund and code-review.
codewhale-hq/Codewhale
Guides when and how to split multi-step coding, research or verification work into focused sub-agent runs while the parent keeps integration and final checks.

Orchestrate fits situations like: tasks that involve Subagents; tasks that involve Multi-agent orchestration.
Run `npx skills add softspark/ai-toolkit --skill orchestrate -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (app/skills/orchestrate in softspark/ai-toolkit) into .claude/skills/orchestrate in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add softspark/ai-toolkit --skill orchestrate -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (app/skills/orchestrate in softspark/ai-toolkit) into .agents/skills/orchestrate in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add softspark/ai-toolkit --skill orchestrate -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/orchestrate, .gemini/skills/orchestrate, .github/skills/orchestrate and .opencode/skills/orchestrate in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Orchestrate is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: Docker. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: Bash, Read, Write, Edit, Glob, Grep, Agent, TeamCreate, TeamDelete, SendMessage, TaskCreate, TaskList, TaskUpdate, TaskGet, TaskOutput, TaskStop.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found notes only (pre-approves every shell command (allowed-tools: bash)), nothing it rates as a warning. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Orchestrate is published under the Apache-2.0 licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 917 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 3.7k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
Skills that share tags, products or a category with Orchestrate: Paseo Advisor Second Opinion (getpaseo/paseo, 20k stars), O2 Review Loop (openobserve/openobserve, 22k stars), Harness Agent Team Designer (revfactory/harness, 9.1k stars) and ClawTeam Multi-Agent Swarm (win4r/ClawTeam-OpenClaw, 1.5k stars). The comparison table on this page puts their stars, adoption, token cost, safety result and licence side by side.
softspark (a GitHub user) maintains it in softspark/ai-toolkit, which has 179 GitHub stars. The repository holds 112 skills in this directory. The repository was last updated on October 7, 2026.
