sapui5-cliManages SAPUI5/OpenUI5 projects using the UI5 Tooling CLI (@ui5/cli).
Sapui5 CLI is an agent skill from secondsky/sap-skills. Manages SAPUI5/OpenUI5 projects using the UI5 Tooling CLI (@ui5/cli). Use when initializing UI5 projects, configuring ui5.yaml or ui5-workspace.yaml files, building UI5 applications or libraries, running development servers with HTTP/2 support, creating custom build tasks or server middleware, managing workspace/monorepo setups, troubleshooting UI5 CLI errors, migrating between UI5 CLI versions, or optimizing build performance. Supports both OpenUI5 and SAPUI5 frameworks with complete configuration and…
Its SKILL.md is about 5k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 22 other files, including reference files (for example `README.md`, `agents/openai.yaml` and `references/benchmarking.md`).
It sits in Development, covering Monorepo tooling. The repository describes itself as: Production-ready plugins for SAP development with AI coding assistants — BTP, CAP, Fiori, ABAP, HANA, Analytics Cloud, Datasphere, and more. The licence is GPL-3.0.
4 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 652a861. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Ships script files (JavaScript, from the files we listed), which the agent can run.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
npmgitFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):
ui5.github.iogithub.comcommunity.sap.comnpmjs.comFrom URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Sapui5 CLI loads about 5k tokens when it runs, and up to ~54k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 136 tokens; SKILL.md has 1,453 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from secondsky/sap-skills at commit 652a861, republished under its GPL-3.0 licence (© secondsky). 1,453 words, ~5,046 tokens.

Always use the latest specVersion for new projects.
Important: During development, always use ui5 serve instead of ui5 build. Building should only occur when deploying to production. The development server provides:
When both global and local UI5 CLI installations exist, the local version takes precedence automatically. This allows different projects to use different CLI versions.
Override behavior: UI5_CLI_NO_LOCAL=X ui5 serve
UI5 CLI caches framework versions in ~/.ui5/ (configurable via ui5DataDir).
Clear cache: rm -rf ~/.ui5/framework/
UI5 CLI does not support JavaScript modules with import/export syntax. All modules must use sap.ui.define format.
Unsupported:
import Module from './module.js';
export default MyClass;Supported:
sap.ui.define(['./module'], function(Module) {
return MyClass;
});Expressions in template literals cannot be used in:
Unsupported:
sap.ui.define([`modules/${moduleName}`], ...); // Will failJavaScript modules requiring 'top level scope' cannot be bundled as strings. They will be omitted from bundles with error logging.
For UI5 1.71, manifest _version property must be ≤ 1.17.0 for supportedLocales generation. Update manifest version to match UI5 framework version.

Sapui5 CLI fits situations like: initializing UI5 projects; configuring ui5.yaml; ui5-workspace.yaml files; building UI5 applications.
Run `npx skills add secondsky/sap-skills --skill sapui5-cli -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (plugins/sapui5-cli/skills/sapui5-cli in secondsky/sap-skills) into .claude/skills/sapui5-cli in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add secondsky/sap-skills --skill sapui5-cli -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/sapui5-cli, .gemini/skills/sapui5-cli, .github/skills/sapui5-cli and .opencode/skills/sapui5-cli in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Sapui5 CLI needs JavaScript for the scripts in its folder and the command-line tools its instructions call (npm and git). Our summary lists: Node.js.
SKILL.md names 4 domains. As links in the text: ui5.github.io, github.com, community.sap.com and npmjs.com. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Sapui5 CLI is published under the GPL-3.0 licence (declared in SKILL.md). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 5k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 20k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 49k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
Skills that share tags, products or a category with Sapui5 CLI: Nx Import (nrwl/nx, 29k stars), Nx Workspace (nomcopter/react-mosaic, 4.8k stars), Electron Multi-Process Architecture (iOfficeAI/AionUi, 33k stars) and Nx Run Tasks (nomcopter/react-mosaic, 4.8k stars).
