When your agent uses it

  • Building integration flows
  • Managing API proxies
  • Event-driven architectures
  • B2B/EDI integrations

Example prompts

  • “/sap-btp-integration-suite”

Requirements

  • Python 3
  • Pre-approved tools (allowed-tools): Read, Bash, Glob, Grep, WebFetch, WebSearch

Workflow steps

3 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. JMS Queues - Transactional message storage
  2. Idempotent Process Call - Duplicate detection via ID mapping
  3. Data Store - Persistent message tracking

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 652a861. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

    Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:

    • Read
    • Bash
    • Glob
    • Grep
    • WebFetch
    • WebSearch

    From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

    No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are groovy and xml).

    From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):

    • help.sap.com
    • github.com
    • community.sap.com
    • api.sap.com

    From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

    Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

    From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Sap Btp Integration Suite loads about 3.6k tokens when it runs, and up to ~53k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 116 tokens; SKILL.md has 1,045 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~116
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~3.6k
With references · SKILL.md plus every file in references/, read only if the agent opens them
~53k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check: notes

The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.

  • NotePre-approves every shell command (allowed-tools: Bash)SKILL.md
    allowed-tools: Read, Bash, Glob, Grep, WebFetch, WebSearch

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Cloud Integration Development

Importable iFlow Generation

When a user asks to generate an iFlow package, ZIP, importable archive, .iflw, or complete Cloud Integration artifact, use references/iflow-package-authoring.md before writing files. Do not invent a flat XML-only package.

For HTTPS-to-SFTP scenarios, start from templates/https-to-sftp-iflow-package/ and preserve its directory layout:

.project
META-INF/MANIFEST.MF
metainfo.prop
src/main/resources/parameters.prop
src/main/resources/parameters.propdef
src/main/resources/scenarioflows/integrationflow/HTTPS_to_SFTP_Template.iflw

Customize only the externalized placeholders unless the user asks for a different design:

  • {{HTTPS_ENDPOINT_PATH}}
  • {{SFTP_HOST}}
  • {{SFTP_PORT}}
  • {{SFTP_DIRECTORY}}
  • {{SFTP_FILENAME}}
  • {{SFTP_CREDENTIAL_ALIAS}}

Keep credentials, tenant URLs, private hostnames, certificates, and deployed runtime state out of generated artifacts. If no SAP Cloud Integration tenant is available for import testing, say that local package structure and XML validation passed but tenant import remains pending.

Scripting Guidelines

Prefer standard steps over scripts. When scripting is necessary:

groovy
// Access message body
def body = message.getBody(String.class)

// Access headers
def header = message.getHeader("HeaderName", String.class)

// Access properties
def prop = message.getProperty("PropertyName")

// Modify body
message.setBody(newBody)

// Add header
message.setHeader("NewHeader", "value")

// Logging (use SLF4J)
def log = org.slf4j.LoggerFactory.getLogger("script")
log.info("Processing message")

Best Practices:

  • Use XmlSlurper.parse(Object) instead of parseText(String) for large payloads
  • Use StringBuilder for string concatenation
  • Never use TimeZone.setDefault() (VM-wide impact)
  • Never write credentials to headers (tracing exposes them)

Message Quality of Service

Exactly-Once Processing

Use when duplicates must be prevented:

  1. JMS Queues - Transactional message storage
  2. Idempotent Process Call - Duplicate detection via ID mapping
  3. Data Store - Persistent message tracking
Idempotent Pattern
Sender → [ID Mapping] → Check Duplicate → Process → [ID Mapping Complete]
                              ↓ (duplicate)
                         Return Cached Response

Edge Integration Cell

Deployment Requirements
  • Kubernetes cluster (EKS, AKS, GKE, OpenShift, RKE2)
  • Minimum: 4 worker nodes, 4 vCPU, 16GB RAM each
  • Storage: 100GB+ persistent volume
  • Network: Ingress controller, DNS configuration
Workflow
  1. Activate Edge Integration Cell in Integration Suite
  2. Prepare Kubernetes cluster (platform-specific)
  3. Deploy Edge Lifecycle Management Bridge
  4. Deploy Edge Integration Cell solution
  5. Configure keystore synchronization
  6. Deploy integration content
