add-agent-adapterA skill your agent uses when adding support for a new AI coding agent to Gryph, or when changing how an existing agent adapter is wired.
Add Agent Adapter is an agent skill from safedep/gryph. Use when adding support for a new AI coding agent to Gryph, or when changing how an existing agent adapter is wired. Trigger this whenever the user wants to integrate a new agent (for example Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini, Codex, Windsurf, or any other tool), add a new adapter package under agent/, wire agent hook events, or asks how adapters detect, install hooks, parse events, or register. Also trigger on phrases like "add a new agent", "support agent X", "new adapter", or "hook up agent X to gryph", even when…
Its SKILL.md is about 680 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Sales & Support, covering Customer support. The repository describes itself as: Security layer for AI coding agents. Works with Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, OpenCode, Pi Agent and more. The licence is Apache-2.0.

Add Agent Adapter loads about 679 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 144 tokens; SKILL.md has 320 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

.claude/skills/add-agent-adapter/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder). The full, current guide is docs/agent-adapter.md. It is the single source of truth for this task. Read it and follow it step by step.
Do not add an agent adapter from memory. The adapter pattern touches several files across agent/, config/, cli/, and tui/. A missed file breaks detection, registration, or the security response path. The doc lists every file and the exact change each one needs.
docs/agent-adapter.md in full.agent/gemini/ package is the recommended model for the settings.json pattern. The doc explains these. They break silently if you miss them.
HookConfigPaths() and return a glob for every file the install step writes. Self-protection guards only these paths. TestAdapters_InstallWritesOnlyDeclaredHookConfig fails when a written file has no glob.Hooks() with one events.HookSpec per hook, including its phase. The decision service reads the phase from it. Regenerate docs/agent-enforcement-coverage.md with GRYPH_UPDATE_DOCS=1 go test ./cli -run TestEnforcementCoverageDoc.aarm/loader or aarm/pdp. The loader derives the shell-command check from the declared paths, and aarm/shellcmd parses commands with mvdan.cc/sh. Do not match shell commands with a regex.registerAdapters in cli/root.go. The self-protection globs come from that list. The doc is the source of truth, so keep it accurate. If you find the code no longer matches the doc, update docs/agent-adapter.md in the same change. Do not fork the guidance into this skill.

Add Agent Adapter fits situations like: adding support for a new AI coding agent to Gryph; changing how an existing agent adapter is wired; this whenever the user wants to integrate a new agent (for example Claude Code; any other tool).
Run `npx skills add safedep/gryph --skill add-agent-adapter -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.claude/skills/add-agent-adapter in safedep/gryph) into .claude/skills/add-agent-adapter in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add safedep/gryph --skill add-agent-adapter -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.claude/skills/add-agent-adapter in safedep/gryph) into .agents/skills/add-agent-adapter in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add safedep/gryph --skill add-agent-adapter -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/add-agent-adapter, .gemini/skills/add-agent-adapter, .github/skills/add-agent-adapter and .opencode/skills/add-agent-adapter in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Add Agent Adapter needs the command-line tools its instructions call (go).
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Add Agent Adapter is published under the Apache-2.0 licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 679 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.7k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
