At a glance

Exports a ppt-as-code HTML deck to PPTX by capturing each slide as a screenshot and placing the full-slide images into PowerPoint.

  • Works in 6 steps: Validate Handoff → Load Export Contract → Enter Export Mode → …
  • Delivering a finished ppt-as-code deck as a .pptx file
  • SKILL.md covers Mandatory Rules, Resource Manifest, Workflow and Output Contract
  • Instructions only: no scripts, shell commands, URLs or credentials in SKILL.md

What it does

The skill supports raster export only. It treats the browser-rendered HTML deck as the design source and wraps its visual state in a PowerPoint file, never rebuilding native or editable layouts. The pipeline is validate the handoff, load the contract, enter export mode, capture slides, place full-slide images and save output.pptx. It is a final-delivery step for ppt-as-code output, not a tool for authoring decks or for arbitrary hand-written HTML.

Each slide is captured in a stable state: controls, progress, slide numbers and debug overlays are hidden, and motion and fragments are frozen at one chosen static state. A missing image is never dropped silently; if an asset prevents a correct capture, the agent stops and reports a clear blocker. Two reference files, manifest-contract.md and rendering-rules.md, define the handoff bundle and capture rules.

When your agent uses it

  • Delivering a finished ppt-as-code deck as a .pptx file
  • Sharing an HTML slide deck with people who only use PowerPoint
  • Capturing slides in a frozen state with controls and overlays hidden

Example prompts

  • “Export the ppt-as-code deck in ./decks/q3-review to PPTX.”
  • “Turn this HTML deck into a PowerPoint file, screenshots only.”
  • “Capture each slide with the progress bar and slide numbers hidden and save output.pptx.”

Requirements

  • A finished ppt-as-code deck with its handoff manifest
  • A browser to render the HTML deck for slide capture

Workflow steps

6 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.

  1. Validate Handoff
  2. Load Export Contract
  3. Enter Export Mode
  4. Capture Slides
  5. Build PPTX
  6. Save And Report

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 3f0cfce. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

PPT-as-Code PPTX Export loads about 1.1k tokens when it runs, and up to ~1.6k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 46 tokens; SKILL.md has 558 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~46
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~1.1k
With references · SKILL.md plus every file in references/, read only if the agent opens them
~1.6k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Export PPT as Code decks to PPTX using a screenshot-only workflow: capture each slide in a stable export state and place the rendered images into PowerPoint.

PPTX Export For PPT as Code

Turn a ppt-as-code deck into .pptx by preserving the HTML result as slide screenshots instead of rebuilding editable PowerPoint layouts.

Core Pipeline: Validate Handoff -> Load Contract -> Enter Export Mode -> Capture Slides -> Place Full-Slide Images -> Save output.pptx

Mandatory Rules

[!IMPORTANT]

Screenshot-Only Export
  • This skill supports raster PPTX export only.
  • Do not attempt native PowerPoint reconstruction.
  • Do not attempt partial-raster or mixed editable rendering.
  • The PPTX is a delivery container for the HTML deck's visual state.

[!IMPORTANT]

HTML Is The Design Source
  • The browser-rendered HTML deck is the design source of truth.
  • PPTX export preserves that rendered state.
  • Do not reinterpret layout through PowerPoint templates.

[!IMPORTANT]

Stable Export State Required
  • Every slide must be captured in a stable export state.
  • Hide presentation furniture that should not appear in the final deck:
    • controls
    • progress
    • slide number
    • debug overlays
  • Freeze motion and fragments to one chosen static state before capture.

[!IMPORTANT]

Product Boundary
  • This skill exports PPTX from ppt-as-code outputs.
  • It does not promise support for arbitrary hand-written HTML pages.
  • It is a final-delivery skill, not a deck-authoring skill.

[!IMPORTANT]

Fidelity Over Editability
  • The goal is visual fidelity, not editability.
  • If the user needs editable slides, that is a separate workflow and should not be implied by this skill.

[!IMPORTANT]

Asset Failure Policy
  • Do not silently drop missing images.
  • If a slide cannot be captured correctly because an asset is missing, stop with a clear blocker.

Workflow

Step 1: Validate Handoff

GATE: The request is to export a ppt-as-code deck to PowerPoint.

EXECUTION:

  1. Confirm the handoff bundle includes:
    • index.html
    • deck_manifest.json
    • assets/ when local images are expected
  2. Confirm the manifest provides:
    • deckTitle
    • slideSize
    • themeTokens
    • slides
  3. Reject the run early if the request is really about authoring or revising the deck instead of exporting it.

Step 2: Load Export Contract

GATE: Step 1 complete.

EXECUTION:

  1. Read ${SKILL_DIR}/references/manifest-contract.md.
  2. Read ${SKILL_DIR}/references/rendering-rules.md.
  3. Default the slide size to 16:9 when the manifest omits a value.
Step 3: Enter Export Mode

GATE: Export inputs are valid enough to proceed.

EXECUTION:

  1. Open the deck in export-safe mode.
  2. Hide browser and reveal.js furniture that should not appear in PPTX.
  3. Select one stable state for each slide.
  4. Confirm that no browser chrome, controls, progress bars, or debug layers remain in frame.
Step 4: Capture Slides

GATE: Export mode is stable.

EXECUTION:

  1. Capture one screenshot per slide at presentation size.
  2. Use the configured slide size from the manifest.
  3. Preserve the full visible slide without browser chrome.
  4. Store the resulting images in an export folder.
Step 5: Build PPTX

GATE: All slide screenshots are available.

EXECUTION:

  1. Create a PPTX deck with the target slide size.
  2. Place each screenshot as a full-slide image.
  3. Keep slide order identical to the HTML deck.
Step 6: Save And Report

GATE: All slide images have been placed successfully.

EXECUTION:

  1. Save the result as output.pptx.
  2. Report:
    • slide count
    • screenshot count
    • missing-asset blockers if any

Output Contract

Final output should include:

  • output.pptx
  • the folder of exported slide images
  • a short summary of capture success or blockers
