What it does

Audit Task is an agent skill from r3bl-org/r3bl-open-core. Launch a subagent to critically and exhaustively audit a task plan markdown file. Looks for bugs, inconsistencies, missing features, and inaccurate, wrong, or dangerous steps.

Its SKILL.md is about 290 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Agent Workflows, covering Subagents. The repository describes itself as: TUI framework and developer productivity apps in Rust 🦀. The licence is Apache-2.0.

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 89db352. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Audit Task loads about 289 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 47 tokens; SKILL.md has 142 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~47
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~289

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Launch a subagent to critically and exhaustively audit a task plan markdown file. Looks for bugs, inconsistencies, missing features, and inaccurate, wrong, or dangerous steps.

Audit Task

This skill is invoked when the user runs the /audit-task <file> slash command.

Procedure

  1. Read the provided <file> (which is typically a Markdown file in the task/ folder).
  2. Launch a subagent using the invoke_subagent tool. You MUST set the Model argument to pro (which maps to gemini-3.1-pro) and explicitly instruct it to use high reasoning effort. You can use an existing subagent like research, or define a new one for this specific purpose.
  3. The prompt for the subagent MUST instruct it to:
    • Read the plan in the provided <file>.
    • Audit the plan critically and exhaustively.
    • Look for bugs, inconsistencies, and missing features.
    • Identify any inaccurate, wrong, or dangerous steps/instructions.
    • Report its findings clearly and systematically.
  4. Wait for the subagent to complete its analysis.
  5. Present the subagent's findings to the user in a clear, structured report.
