peon-ping-renameGives the current coding session a custom name that appears in peon-ping desktop notification titles and the terminal tab title, or resets it to automatic.
Typing `/peon-ping-rename Auth Refactor` sets a name for the session. A UserPromptSubmit hook catches the command before it reaches the model, saves the name against the session ID in peon-ping's `.state.json`, retitles the terminal tab with an ANSI escape sequence and confirms, so no tokens are spent. Tabs open in the same repository can each have their own name, and running the command with no argument returns to automatic detection.
Names can be up to 50 characters of letters, numbers, spaces, dots, hyphens and underscores. If the hook fails, a manual fallback reads the session ID from the environment and writes the name into the state file with a short Python command, after which any prompt refreshes the title. The session name outranks every other source of project name, including the environment variable, label file, title script and the Git repository name.

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

Peon-Ping Session Rename loads about 539 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 61 tokens; SKILL.md has 173 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from PeonPing/peon-ping at commit de4ada7, republished under its MIT licence (© PeonPing). 173 words, ~539 tokens.

When the user types /peon-ping-rename <name>, a UserPromptSubmit hook intercepts the command before it reaches the model:
session_names[session_id] = name to .state.jsonOn every subsequent hook event, peon.sh reads session_names[session_id] as the highest-priority project name. Multiple tabs in the same repo each get independent names.

With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add PeonPing/peon-ping --skill peon-ping-rename -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/peon-ping-rename, .gemini/skills/peon-ping-rename, .github/skills/peon-ping-rename and .opencode/skills/peon-ping-rename in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Peon-Ping Session Rename needs the command-line tools its instructions call (python3). Our summary lists: peon-ping installed with its UserPromptSubmit hook; Python 3, only for the manual fallback.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Peon-Ping Session Rename is published under the MIT licence (declared in SKILL.md). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 539 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 2.2k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
