Create a reviewable reusable Agent Skill draft from a user's explicit natural-language description.

  • Works in 5 steps: Translate the user's description into… → Check that the instructions preserve… → Normally call create_skill exactly once… → …

What it does

Skill Creator is an agent skill from openJiuwen-ai/sciencediscovery. Create a reviewable reusable Agent Skill draft from a user's explicit natural-language description. Use when the user asks the Agent to create, build, or revise a Skill; do not use merely because a workflow seems reusable.

Its SKILL.md is about 690 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.

It sits in Agent Workflows, covering Skill authoring. The repository describes itself as: ScienceDiscovery is an all‑in‑one agentic workbench built specifically for scientific research. The licence is Apache-2.0.

When your agent uses it

  • The user asks the Agent to create
  • Do not use merely because a workflow seems reusable

Example prompts

  • “/skill-creator”

Workflow steps

5 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Translate the user's description into one stable Skill name, selection description, Markdown instructions, and optional version/resources.
  2. Check that the instructions preserve authorization boundaries and do not generalize a one-off preference into a universal rule.
  3. Normally call create_skill exactly once with the complete proposed package. If the user explicitly requests multiple versions or…
  4. A matching managed Skill name creates a draft based on its current revision; a matching unconfirmed draft is updated in place and compared…
  5. Report one pending Skill and direct the user to its review action in the conversation or Settings > Skills. The draft is inactive until…

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit ab1403f. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Skill Creator loads about 693 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 59 tokens; SKILL.md has 360 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~59
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~693

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Skill Creator

Create a focused, portable Skill that preserves the user's stated intent.

Creation contract

  • Act only when the user explicitly asks to create or install a Skill.
  • Infer ordinary details from the description. Ask a question only when missing information would materially change the Skill.
  • Use a lowercase kebab-case name of at most 64 characters and a concise, discriminating description.
  • Treat name as the Skill's stable identity, not a proposal title. Every revision or alternative version of one logical Skill must reuse exactly the same name; put labels such as lite, systematic, v2, or experimental in metadata.version, the description, or the instructions instead of appending them to the name.
  • Assume the Agent is already capable. Instructions should contain only useful workflow guidance, non-obvious constraints, and concrete validation criteria.
  • Keep simple Skills self-contained. Add UTF-8 resources under references/, scripts/, or assets/ only when they have a concrete reusable purpose.
  • Packaged scripts are retained as read-only resources by this runtime; they are not automatically installed or executed. Do not promise automatic execution.
  • Never include credentials, private conversation details, or unrelated workspace content.

Workflow

If the user explicitly requests multiple versions or alternatives of the same Skill, call it once per requested version in order and reuse the exact same name every time; each later call updates that draft and becomes another comparable proposal in its version history.
  4. A matching managed Skill name creates a draft based on its current revision; a matching unconfirmed draft is updated in place and compared with the previous Agent proposal; built-in Skills remain read-only.
  5. Report one pending Skill and direct the user to its review action in the conversation or Settings > Skills. The draft is inactive until the user explicitly confirms it.

If draft creation reports a read-only name or validation error, stop and explain the correction needed. Do not rename or retry without the user's direction.
