market-researchProduces deep-dive reports on a stock, industry, market or business model by combining yfinance data with Grok API searches of X and the web.
Research type and target are inferred from the request, then scripts/run_research.py runs with one of four commands. A stock report combines basic information and valuation from yfinance, the latest news, sentiment on X from the Grok API and a deeper analysis of news, earnings drivers, analyst views and competitors. An industry report covers trends, key players, growth drivers, risks and regulation, and a market report covers price moves, macro factors, sentiment, notable events and sector rotation.
A business model report describes what the company earns from, its segment mix and revenue model, competitive advantages, key KPIs, growth strategy and structural risks. The data has two layers: yfinance is always available for fundamentals and prices, while the Grok layer requires the XAI_API_KEY variable; without it stock reports use yfinance only and the other three types report that Grok is needed. Each report ends with a Grok API status line covering normal, not set, auth error, rate limit and timeout cases.
After showing the script output, the agent adds commentary, for example checking that fundamentals agree with the Grok findings, noting Japan-specific context for industries, and linking results to the user's holdings, earlier research, notes and watchlist if that context exists. It also offers to record a thesis as an investment note. This is research support, not investment advice, and the SKILL.md is in Japanese.
2 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 6bc1be2. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:
Bash(python3 *)From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Ships 1 file in scripts/ (Python), which the agent can run.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
python3From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names these keys or tokens, usually read from environment variables:
XAI_API_KEYFrom names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Market and Stock Deep Research loads about 739 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 24 tokens; SKILL.md has 143 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.
Without a licence we can't republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 143 words (~739 tokens).

Run `npx skills add okikusan-public/stock_skills --skill market-research -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (.claude/skills/market-research in okikusan-public/stock_skills) into .claude/skills/market-research in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add okikusan-public/stock_skills --skill market-research -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (.claude/skills/market-research in okikusan-public/stock_skills) into .agents/skills/market-research in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add okikusan-public/stock_skills --skill market-research -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/market-research, .gemini/skills/market-research, .github/skills/market-research and .opencode/skills/market-research in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Market and Stock Deep Research needs Python for the scripts in its folder, the command-line tools its instructions call (python3) and credentials named XAI_API_KEY. Our summary lists: Python 3 to run run_research.py; yfinance for price and fundamentals data; An XAI_API_KEY for the Grok API layer. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: Bash(python3 *).
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. The check reads SKILL.md only: the scripts in the folder are not scanned, so read them before running anything.
No licence was found for Market and Stock Deep Research or its repository. Without one, default copyright applies: ask the author before reusing or redistributing it.
About 739 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 3k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
