slidev-presentationsCreates Slidev markdown presentations for developers. An agent skill from nicepkg/ai-workflow.
Slidev Presentations is an agent skill from nicepkg/ai-workflow. Creates Slidev markdown presentations for developers. Activates for: slides with code highlighting, technical talks, conference presentations, workshop materials, live coding decks, or markdown-based slides. Not for PowerPoint/Google Slides or non-presentation documents.
Its SKILL.md is about 2.3k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 10 other files, including reference files and assets (for example `assets/example-team-update.md`, `assets/example-technical-talk.md` and `assets/example-tutorial.md`).
It sits in Documents & Office, covering Slides and decks, PowerPoint presentations and Cloud office suites. It works with Google Slides and Microsoft PowerPoint. The repository describes itself as: 🚀 170+ pre-built skills for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex & 14+ AI tools. Stop re-teaching your AI the same things. One command → instant domain expertise. Marketing, SEO, Trading… The licence is MIT.
8 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit d167b41. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
npxnpmpnpmFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Hosts in commands or code, which the agent is likely to contact:
sli.devFrom URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Slidev Presentations loads about 2.3k tokens when it runs, and up to ~10k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 73 tokens; SKILL.md has 725 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from nicepkg/ai-workflow at commit d167b41, republished under its MIT licence (© nicepkg). 725 words, ~2,301 tokens.

Follow the plan-first approach for quality presentations:
1. Gather Context → 2. Create Plan → 3. Review Plan → 4. Generate Slides| Scenario | Command | Output |
|---|---|---|
| New presentation on a topic | /slidev:plan [topic] then /slidev:from-plan | Plan + Slides |
| Presentation about a codebase | /slidev:from-codebase [path] | Plan + Slides |
| Quick slides (skip planning) | /slidev:new [topic] | Slides only |
| Generate from existing plan | /slidev:from-plan [plan-file] | Slides only |
A presentation plan includes:

If the user doesn't have Slidev installed, provide these commands:
# Create new presentation (recommended)
npm init slidev@latest
# Or with pnpm
pnpm create slidev
# Or add to existing project
npm install @slidev/cli @slidev/theme-defaultSlidev's multi-frontmatter syntax conflicts with standard markdown linters. Always ensure a .markdownlint.json exists in the presentation directory before generating slides.
Slidev uses --- separators with per-slide frontmatter:
---
layout: section
---Standard markdownlint interprets layout: section + --- as a setext-style heading and "fixes" it to ## layout: section, corrupting the presentation.
Create .markdownlint.json in the presentation directory:
{
"MD003": false,
"MD024": false,
"MD025": false,
"MD026": false,
"MD033": false,
"MD041": false
}| Rule | Why Disabled |
|---|---|
| MD003 | Prevents setext→ATX conversion that corrupts frontmatter |
| MD024 | Slides often have repeated headings across slides |
| MD025 | Each slide can have its own H1 |
| MD026 | Slide titles may end with punctuation |
| MD033 | Slidev uses inline HTML for layouts and animations |
| MD041 | First line is YAML frontmatter, not a heading |
All /slidev:* commands should check for and create this config file before writing slides.md. If modifying an existing presentation, verify the config exists first.
Run the presentation:
# Development mode with hot reload
npx slidev
# Build for production
npx slidev build
# Export to PDF (requires playwright-chromium)
npx slidev export
# Export to PPTX
npx slidev export --format pptxGenerate a complete slides.md file that can be run directly with Slidev.
For full syntax details, see references/slidev-quick-reference.md.

Slidev Presentations fits situations like: tasks that involve Slides and decks; tasks that involve PowerPoint presentations; tasks that involve Cloud office suites.
Run `npx skills add nicepkg/ai-workflow --skill slidev-presentations -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (workflows/talk-to-slidev-workflow/.claude/skills/slidev-presentations in nicepkg/ai-workflow) into .claude/skills/slidev-presentations in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add nicepkg/ai-workflow --skill slidev-presentations -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (workflows/talk-to-slidev-workflow/.claude/skills/slidev-presentations in nicepkg/ai-workflow) into .agents/skills/slidev-presentations in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add nicepkg/ai-workflow --skill slidev-presentations -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/slidev-presentations, .gemini/skills/slidev-presentations, .github/skills/slidev-presentations and .opencode/skills/slidev-presentations in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Slidev Presentations needs the command-line tools its instructions call (npx, npm and pnpm). Our summary lists: Python 3; Node.js.
SKILL.md names 1 domain. In commands or code: sli.dev; the agent is likely to contact it when it follows the instructions. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Slidev Presentations is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 2.3k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 9.2k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 7.9k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
Skills that share tags, products or a category with Slidev Presentations: Publish To Pages (github/awesome-copilot, 40k stars), Gamma Migration Deep Dive (jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace, 2.8k stars), PPTX Generator (coleam00/ai-transformation-workshop, 147 stars) and Explorable Deck (claesbackman/AI-research-feedback, 493 stars).
