aiceptionPulls reusable knowledge out of work sessions and turns it into new skills, checking existing notes and skills first to avoid duplicates.
Aiception is a continuous-learning routine: during a task the agent asks whether the work produced knowledge worth keeping and, if so, writes it up as a new skill. It starts from the `/aiception` command, from requests such as 'save this as a skill' or 'what did we learn?', and after non-obvious debugging or trial-and-error discovery. The skill stresses being selective, since not every task yields a skill.
Candidates qualify as non-obvious solutions, misleading errors with their real causes, tool integration knowledge, workflow optimizations or project-specific patterns, and must be reusable, non-trivial, specific and verified. Before writing, the agent searches Open Brain for existing knowledge and the project and user skill folders for related skills, then updates an existing skill, creates a new one or adds cross-references depending on the match. For technology topics it also checks current documentation.
7 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 238df6c. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are markdown).
From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Aiception Skill Extraction loads about 2k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 97 tokens; SKILL.md has 779 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.
what's stored in the server's .env file.(2) API key from .env returns 401 but MCP config key works,Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 779 words (~1,955 tokens).

Starts three parallel reviewer subagents over the current conversation transcript, then turns their findings into concrete edits to existing skills.
getcrew44/crew44
Reviews past Codex or Claude Code sessions from a time range you choose and proposes skills to codify and memories to pin, as a summary plus structured JSON.
AgentToolkit/altk-evolve
Turns a saved agent trajectory into a reusable skill with a SKILL.md and supporting scripts, so later sessions can call the workflow instead of rediscovering it.
MemPalace/mempalace
Mines project files and conversation exports into a local, searchable memory palace and recalls past work by semantic search through the mempalace CLI.
MemPalace/mempalace
Installs and configures MemPalace as a private local palace, a shared-brain hub or a client of an existing hub, including MCP registration and version-correct initialization.
breferrari/obsidian-mind
Search the vault using QMD semantic search. An agent skill from breferrari/obsidian-mind.
NateBJones-Projects/OB1
Converts large PDF, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX and CSV files into markdown or CSV plus an index before the agent reads them, so tokens go to the compressed copy.
NateBJones-Projects/OB1
Fires a Stop hook that captures a Claude Code session transcript automatically when the session ends without a verbal wrap-up.
NateBJones-Projects/OB1
Captures and searches personal notes in a self-hosted Open Brain using plain curl calls over HTTP, for setups where MCP is disabled or blocked.
NateBJones-Projects/OB1
Processes voice transcripts and brain dumps in three phases, extracting every idea thread, evaluating the strongest and saving a permanent inventory and synthesis.
NateBJones-Projects/OB1
Designs, evaluates and improves the harness around an AI agent: tool permissions, approval gates, state, memory, evals and observability, with phased plans.
NateBJones-Projects/OB1
Turns a noisy week of AI or software market news into a short list of structural changes, weighted by what the user already tracks in Open Brain memory.

Aiception is a continuous-learning routine: during a task the agent asks whether the work produced knowledge worth keeping and, if so, writes it up as a new skill.', and after non-obvious debugging or trial-and-error discovery.
Aiception Skill Extraction fits situations like: capturing a hard-won debugging fix as a reusable skill; reviewing a finished session for lessons worth keeping; updating an existing skill with a new variant of a known problem.
Run `npx skills add NateBJones-Projects/OB1 --skill aiception -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/claudeception in NateBJones-Projects/OB1) into .claude/skills/aiception in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add NateBJones-Projects/OB1 --skill aiception -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/claudeception in NateBJones-Projects/OB1) into .agents/skills/aiception in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add NateBJones-Projects/OB1 --skill aiception -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/aiception, .gemini/skills/aiception, .github/skills/aiception and .opencode/skills/aiception in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Aiception Skill Extraction is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: An Open Brain connection that can search stored thoughts.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found notes only (mentions a .env file), nothing it rates as a warning. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Aiception Skill Extraction has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 2k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 7.8k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
