setupConfigures the DevGlobe plugin by saving an API key to a local config file, so coding activity starts showing up live on the user's 3D globe.
The skill takes a single argument, the API key as one string with no spaces, and if none is given it shows usage instructions and stops rather than guessing or proceeding without one. When a key is provided, it pipes a small JSON payload into the bundled setup.js script, which writes api_key into ~/.devglobe/config.toml with file mode 0600 while preserving any existing privacy section already in that file.
After a successful save, the skill confirms the key was stored and tells the user they are now live on the DevGlobe site, then mentions two follow-ups: a separate /devglobe:status command for setting a status message, and the dashboard page where visibility settings like anonymous mode, repo sharing and profile mode are managed.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 5c5cbc0. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:
BashFrom allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
nodeFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):
devglobe.appFrom URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names these keys or tokens, usually read from environment variables:
API_KEYFrom names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
DevGlobe Setup loads about 265 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 12 tokens; SKILL.md has 109 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check noted patterns worth knowing about, such as sudo or a known installer.
allowed-tools: BashAutomated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from Nako0/devglobe-extension at commit 5c5cbc0, republished under its MIT licence (© Nako0). 109 words, ~265 tokens.

If no API key is provided:
/devglobe:setup YOUR_API_KEYPipe the API key into the bundled setup script:
echo '{"api_key":"<API_KEY>"}' | node "${CLAUDE_PLUGIN_ROOT}/dist/setup.js"The script writes api_key = "..." to ~/.devglobe/config.toml (mode 0600), preserving any [privacy] section already present.
Confirm the API key was saved. Mention they're now live on https://devglobe.app.
Mention /devglobe:status MESSAGE for setting a status message, and that visibility settings (anonymous mode, repo sharing, profile mode) are managed at https://devglobe.app/dashboard/settings.

The skill takes a single argument, the API key as one string with no spaces, and if none is given it shows usage instructions and stops rather than guessing or proceeding without one.toml with file mode 0600 while preserving any existing privacy section already in that file.
DevGlobe Setup fits situations like: setting up the DevGlobe plugin for the first time with an API key; reconfiguring DevGlobe after getting a new API key; troubleshooting why DevGlobe isn't showing activity yet.
Run `npx skills add Nako0/devglobe-extension --skill setup -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (claude-code-plugin/plugins/devglobe/skills/setup in Nako0/devglobe-extension) into .claude/skills/setup in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add Nako0/devglobe-extension --skill setup -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (claude-code-plugin/plugins/devglobe/skills/setup in Nako0/devglobe-extension) into .agents/skills/setup in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add Nako0/devglobe-extension --skill setup -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/setup, .gemini/skills/setup, .github/skills/setup and .opencode/skills/setup in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, DevGlobe Setup needs the command-line tools its instructions call (node) and credentials named API_KEY. Our summary lists: A DevGlobe API key from devglobe.app; Node.js to run the bundled setup script. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: Bash.
SKILL.md names 1 domain. As links in the text: devglobe.app. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found notes only (pre-approves every shell command (allowed-tools: bash)), nothing it rates as a warning. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
DevGlobe Setup is published under the MIT licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 265 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 1.1k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
Skills that share tags, products or a category with DevGlobe Setup: Claude Code Receipts Report (anthropics/claude-plugins-official, 37k stars), Lark Todo (autumnseasonism/lark-todo, 138 stars), Nippo Daily Reports (nwiizo/nippo, 179 stars) and ClickUp CLI (krodak/clickup-cli, 120 stars). The comparison table on this page puts their stars, adoption, token cost, safety result and licence side by side.
