What it does

Review Architecture is an agent skill from mrinalwadhwa/fluent. Reviews the structural quality of code. Use when reviewing structural changes in a diff, checking a new or edited module boundary, or auditing the architecture of a codebase.

Its SKILL.md is about 390 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 4 other files, including reference files (for example `references/architecture.md`, `references/shell-scripts.md` and `references/terminal-ui.md`).

The repository describes itself as: Fluent is a self-improving software factory. It autonomously turns your team's vision, ideas, bug reports, user feedback, production logs, and agent traces into working software. The licence is Apache-2.0.

When your agent uses it

  • Reviewing structural changes in a diff
  • Edited module boundary
  • Auditing the architecture of a codebase

Example prompts

  • “Use the review-architecture skill to review the structural quality of code. An agent skill from mrinalwadhwa/fluent”

Workflow steps

5 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Read the code under review to understand its structure — module boundaries, key abstractions, dependencies.
  2. Read references/architecture.md for architectural principles. Read any related guides it points to for the code under review.
  3. For each in-scope structural choice
  4. Check for anti-patterns from references/architecture.md.
  5. For each improvement, decide if it blocks shipping. Circular dependencies, god objects, and coupling that will block near-term work…

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit be19732. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

    No URLs in SKILL.md.

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

Context cost

Review Architecture loads about 394 tokens when it runs, and up to ~420 if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 49 tokens; SKILL.md has 190 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~49
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~394
With references · SKILL.md plus every file in references/, read only if the agent opens them
~420

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

description
Reviews the structural quality of code. Use when reviewing structural changes in a diff, checking a new or edited module boundary, or auditing the architecture of a codebase.

Purpose

Decide whether the code's architecture is fit to ship. Identify improvements that would make the codebase simpler, more coherent, and easier to change.

Scope

The invoking layer decides what's in scope. For a diff-scoped review, that's the structural choices in the diff. For a full-codebase audit, that's the codebase's overall structure. Even in a diff-scoped review, evaluate the changes in the context of the entire codebase — a boundary that looks fine in isolation can be wrong in context. Check each choice for structural quality and check the codebase as a whole for coherence.

Method

  1. Read the code under review to understand its structure — module boundaries, key abstractions, dependencies.

  2. Read references/architecture.md for architectural principles. Read any related guides it points to for the code under review.

  3. For each in-scope structural choice:

    • Evaluate against the principles in references/architecture.md.
    • Identify improvements.
  4. Check for anti-patterns from references/architecture.md.

  5. For each improvement, decide if it blocks shipping. Circular dependencies, god objects, and coupling that will block near-term work typically block. Small simplifications, naming preferences, and style choices typically don't.

The invoking layer may add checks in addition to those above.
