rememberStores a fact, preference or lesson verbatim in Mem0 through /mem0-remember and files it under a category such as preferences, decisions or goals.
You give the text as the argument to /mem0-remember, and the agent asks what to remember if nothing was supplied. It then picks a category from the wording: preferences for phrases like I prefer, decisions for we decided or always use, lessons for things learned or not to try, plus goals, work, routines, projects, relationships, identity and technical for setup and tooling. Lessons is the fallback for anything else.
The text is saved through the mem0_memory tool with the add action, word for word and without any inference. The agent then confirms with the category and the first 80 characters of the content, adding an ellipsis only when the text was cut.
4 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit c93420c. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.

Mem0 Remember loads about 410 tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 58 tokens; SKILL.md has 169 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from mem0ai/mem0 at commit c93420c, republished under its Apache-2.0 licence (© mem0ai). 169 words, ~410 tokens.

The user provides the content as an argument: /mem0-remember <text>
If no text was provided, ask: "What should I remember?"
Based on the content, pick the best category:
| Content signal | Category |
|---|---|
| "I prefer...", "I like...", "use X instead of Y" | preferences |
| "we decided...", "always use...", "never..." | decisions |
| "I learned...", "figured out...", "don't try..." | lessons |
| "my goal is...", "I want to...", "working toward..." | goals |
| "I work at...", "my role is...", "my team..." | work |
| "every day I...", "my workflow is..." | routines |
| "I'm working on...", "the project involves..." | projects |
| "John is...", "my manager...", "the team..." | relationships |
| "my name is...", "I'm from...", "I studied..." | identity |
| setup, tools, config, environment | technical |
| anything else | lessons |

Categories
Stores a fact, preference or lesson verbatim in Mem0 through /mem0-remember and files it under a category such as preferences, decisions or goals.
Mem0 Remember fits situations like: saving a preference or decision so later sessions remember it; recording a lesson learned during debugging; storing a goal or project note when someone says remember this.
Run `npx skills add mem0ai/mem0 --skill remember -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (integrations/pi-agent-plugin/skills/remember in mem0ai/mem0) into .claude/skills/remember in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add mem0ai/mem0 --skill remember -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (integrations/pi-agent-plugin/skills/remember in mem0ai/mem0) into .agents/skills/remember in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add mem0ai/mem0 --skill remember -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/remember, .gemini/skills/remember, .github/skills/remember and .opencode/skills/remember in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Mem0 Remember is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: Mem0, with the mem0_memory tool available for its add action.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Mem0 Remember is published under the Apache-2.0 licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 410 tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 1.6k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
