learning-medusaInteractive tutorial where the agent teaches Medusa development by guiding you through building a brands feature, with lessons and verification checkpoints.
This is a tutoring session rather than a reference. The agent plays a patient coding bootcamp instructor while you build a brands feature that creates brands through the API, links them to products and shows them in the admin dashboard. Along the way it teaches the module, workflow and API route pattern, module links between modules, workflow hooks that extend core flows and admin UI customization.
The protocol is greet and orient, check prerequisites such as an initialized Medusa project and a ready environment, preview each lesson, then guide in small steps: explain, implement together, verify. After each major piece it asks verification questions, reviews your code, tests with you and debugs errors using a troubleshooting guide, moving on only when a step works. The folder holds architecture notes, checkpoint files, three lessons and a common-errors guide.
12 steps, taken from the step headings in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 066132d. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
gitFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use git, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Learning Medusa loads about 4.1k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 78 tokens; SKILL.md has 1,500 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Without a licence we can't republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 1,500 words (~4,135 tokens).
“This is NOT a passive reference skill. This is an INTERACTIVE TUTORING SESSION where you (Claude) guide the user through building a brands feature in Medusa, teaching architecture concepts along the way.”

rohitg00/ai-engineering-from-scratch
Tutors a learner through one stage of a hands-on AI engineering project per session: lesson, prediction, code, grader run and reflection, with hints but never full solutions.
voidful/hung-yi-lee-skill
Explains machine learning, LLMs, AI agents and speech modeling in a Hung-Yi Lee-inspired teaching style, drawing on a knowledge base built from his lectures and research references.
rohitg00/ai-engineering-from-scratch
Routes a topic, question or bug to the exact lessons in the AI Engineering from Scratch curriculum and suggests the next command to run.
anthropics/skills
Adds a matching Claude Academy course, tutorial or use case to the end of an answer about learning to use Claude, but only when the match is strong.
THU-MAIC/OpenMAIC
Turns a concept or lesson material into a Feynman-style classroom where learners explain first, find their smallest gap, rebuild the idea and apply it somewhere new.
GarethManning/education-agent-skills
Generate a cascading hint sequence for a problem type, revealing progressively without giving answers.
medusajs/medusa-agent-skills
Walks through adding an AI agent for store operators to a Medusa project: data models, module service, agent runtime, streaming API route and admin chat UI.
medusajs/medusa-agent-skills
Runs the mcloud commands for logging in, checking who is authenticated, and choosing the active organization, project and environment.
medusajs/medusa-agent-skills
Lists Medusa Cloud deployments, fetches one deployment's details and reads backend or storefront build logs through the mcloud CLI to debug failed builds.
medusajs/medusa-agent-skills
Runs mcloud environments commands to list, inspect, create, delete, redeploy or rebuild environments in Medusa Cloud projects.
medusajs/medusa-agent-skills
Reproduces a Medusa Cloud build on your machine with mcloud local build, to debug build-failed deployments without pushing or waiting on Cloud.

Run `npx skills add medusajs/medusa-agent-skills --skill learning-medusa -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (plugins/learn-medusa/skills/learning-medusa in medusajs/medusa-agent-skills) into .claude/skills/learning-medusa in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add medusajs/medusa-agent-skills --skill learning-medusa -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (plugins/learn-medusa/skills/learning-medusa in medusajs/medusa-agent-skills) into .agents/skills/learning-medusa in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add medusajs/medusa-agent-skills --skill learning-medusa -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/learning-medusa, .gemini/skills/learning-medusa, .github/skills/learning-medusa and .opencode/skills/learning-medusa in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Learning Medusa needs the command-line tools its instructions call (git). Our summary lists: A Medusa project, or willingness to initialize one; Node.js and a database for local development.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use git, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
No licence was found for Learning Medusa or its repository. Without one, default copyright applies: ask the author before reusing or redistributing it.
About 4.1k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 17k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
