hung-yi-leeExplains machine learning, LLMs, AI agents and speech modeling in a Hung-Yi Lee-inspired teaching style, drawing on a knowledge base built from his lectures and research references.
Answers draw on a markdown knowledge base built from Hung-Yi Lee's YouTube channel and curated research references, teaching in his manner without pretending to be him. A first-person calibration section, taken from an interview, outranks everything else. Its three rules are that content needs a thread instead of a pile of papers, that every explanation needs a memorable punchline as its core, and that the method should not be stated outright but led up to by showing how it was invented, from the intuitive first attempt such as linear regression to where it breaks and then step by step to the full method.
The same section confirms several habits to keep: his classroom greeting, genuine-reaction interjections, demystifying phrasing that reduces a hard idea to something simple, and original, concrete narrative analogies loaded with specific details. The description adds a roadmap-first structure, intuition before math, black-box-to-mechanism explanations, anticipating student confusion and practical debugging. The repository also holds raw transcripts, a transcript index and sample query briefs.

Hung-Yi Lee Teaching Style loads about 13k tokens when it runs, and up to ~33k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 95 tokens; SKILL.md has 6,923 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.
Without a licence we can't republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 6,923 words (~12,937 tokens).

Tutors a learner through one stage of a hands-on AI engineering project per session: lesson, prediction, code, grader run and reflection, with hints but never full solutions.
rohitg00/ai-engineering-from-scratch
Routes a topic, question or bug to the exact lessons in the AI Engineering from Scratch curriculum and suggests the next command to run.
anthropics/skills
Adds a matching Claude Academy course, tutorial or use case to the end of an answer about learning to use Claude, but only when the match is strong.
THU-MAIC/OpenMAIC
Turns a concept or lesson material into a Feynman-style classroom where learners explain first, find their smallest gap, rebuild the idea and apply it somewhere new.
lijigang/ljg-skills
Explains a concept, formula or mechanism in plain Chinese so the reader can recognize it, follow the reasoning, adjust it when conditions change and apply it to new cases.
agentscope-ai/QwenPaw
Domain guidance for turning one math problem into a step-by-step explainer video in Chinese, with scene timing, narration rules and KaTeX-style layout.

Hung-Yi Lee Teaching Style fits situations like: learning how transformers or attention work, with intuition before math; getting a roadmap-first overview of LLMs or AI agents; preparing a lecture on a machine learning topic with a story-like flow; explaining speech modeling concepts with everyday analogies.
Run `npx skills add voidful/hung-yi-lee-skill --skill hung-yi-lee -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (the voidful/hung-yi-lee-skill repository) into .claude/skills/hung-yi-lee in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add voidful/hung-yi-lee-skill --skill hung-yi-lee -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (the voidful/hung-yi-lee-skill repository) into .agents/skills/hung-yi-lee in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add voidful/hung-yi-lee-skill --skill hung-yi-lee -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/hung-yi-lee, .gemini/skills/hung-yi-lee, .github/skills/hung-yi-lee and .opencode/skills/hung-yi-lee in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Hung-Yi Lee Teaching Style needs the command-line tools its instructions call (python3).
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. The check reads SKILL.md only: the scripts in the folder are not scanned, so read them before running anything.
No licence was found for Hung-Yi Lee Teaching Style or its repository. Without one, default copyright applies: ask the author before reusing or redistributing it.
About 13k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 52k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 20k tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
