runway-upgrade-migrationMigrate Runway SDK, API, model, or request contracts through inventory, compatibility fixtures, canaries, and reversible rollout.
Runway Upgrade Migration is an agent skill from jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace. Migrate Runway SDK, API, model, or request contracts through inventory, compatibility fixtures, canaries, and reversible rollout. Use when removing retired behavior. Trigger with: "upgrade Runway SDK", "migrate gen3aturbo", "Runway API migration".
Its SKILL.md is about 1.3k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 2 other files, including reference files (for example `references/official-docs.md`). Compatibility notes: Requires server-side Runway Dev access, current first-party documentation, an approved credit budget, and controlled media storage.
It sits in DevOps & Cloud, covering Deployment. It works with Runway. The repository describes itself as: Model-agnostic agent-skills platform with a harness-free canonical layer, verified adapters, and the ccpi package manager. Explore at tonsofskills.com. The licence is MIT.

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit cfae287. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From compatibility in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Runway Upgrade Migration loads about 1.3k tokens when it runs, and up to ~2.3k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 68 tokens; SKILL.md has 561 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace at commit cfae287, republished under its MIT licence (© jeremylongshore). 561 words, ~1,336 tokens.
.claude/skills/runway-upgrade-migration/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder). This skill also uses 1 other file; get the full folder from GitHub.A Runway upgrade can change client types, model availability, allowed fields, output behavior, cost, latency, and quality at once. Preserve operation and task compatibility while migrating from retired identifiers through explicit per-model contracts and controlled comparisons.
Use Read and Grep to find SDK imports, raw endpoints, version headers, model identifiers, ratio and duration literals, wait helpers, error classes, task persistence, output handling, and docs.
Resolve the target SDK and review its changelog. For model changes, inspect exact input/output variants; gen3a_turbo is retired, while gen4.5 and gen4_turbo have different input capabilities and cannot be substituted mechanically.
Capture accepted request shapes, every task state, HTTP and task failures, cancellation, timeout, and output-copy behavior. Add explicit rejection tests for retired identifiers and cross-model fields.
Introduce a client adapter that can read existing task IDs, then deploy target support disabled. Change model or router policy separately so dependency regressions and output-quality changes remain distinguishable.
Use safe representative prompts/media and fixed ceilings. Compare schema acceptance, queue/run latency, terminal rate, credits, dimensions, duration, moderation, and blinded product quality.
Ramp by tenant or workload, keep retrieval compatibility for old tasks, stop new old-contract admission, then remove deprecated code only after the reconciliation horizon. Retain a rollback that does not recreate tasks.
Migration tests use protected server-side credentials and redacted fixtures. Package registry lookup and documentation are public; live generations require explicit approval and a bounded credit budget.
Use Read and Grep to inspect application configuration, provider documentation, lockfiles, fixtures, schemas, tests, and redacted operational evidence before proposing a change. Use Write or Edit only for an approved implementation, configuration, test, runbook, or redacted receipt. Do not create, cancel, delete, retry, deploy, rotate, revoke, publish, or otherwise mutate production Runway resources without explicit operator approval.
Return the environment, organization alias, operation and task identifiers, API and SDK versions, model or router policy, source-contract fingerprint, task-state evidence, credit boundary, output disposition, unresolved risk, rollback state, and final decision without exposing API secrets, prompt or media contents, or temporary signed URLs.
A service replaces retired gen3a_turbo. It first deploys an adapter able to retrieve existing tasks, adds separate gen4.5 text and gen4_turbo image-input schemas, compares approved canaries, then stops old creates while draining saved task IDs.
| Failure | Response |
|---|---|
| New SDK cannot retrieve old task IDs | Stop rollout and restore compatibility before changing create policy. |
| Model swap copies old ratio or duration | Reject it and rebuild from the target model's exact discriminated schema. |
| Canary cost or quality exceeds policy | Keep the old supported path or revise the target decision with owners. |
Run old and target contract suites, reject retired identifiers, resume tasks across mixed worker versions, compare controlled canaries, test rollback after create, and verify docs and lockfiles match the deployed path.

SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Runway Upgrade Migration is instructions for the agent only. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: Read, Grep, Write, Edit. Compatibility (from SKILL.md): Requires server-side Runway Dev access, current first-party documentation, an approved credit budget, and controlled media storage..

About 1.3k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 5.3k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full. Its references folder adds about 969 tokens, read only when the agent opens those files.
