What it does

Algolia Debug Bundle is an agent skill from jeremylongshore/tons-of-skills-marketplace. Collect a bounded, secret-safe Algolia diagnostic bundle for an incident or support escalation. Use when a reproducible search or indexing failure needs portable evidence. Trigger with "Algolia debug bundle", "collect Algolia diagnostics", or "Algolia support evidence".

Its SKILL.md is about 1000 tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. The skill folder holds 2 other files, including reference files (for example `references/official-docs.md`). Compatibility notes: Designed for Claude Code

It sits in Backend & APIs, covering Search implementation. It works with Algolia. The repository describes itself as: Model-agnostic agent-skills platform with a harness-free canonical layer, verified adapters, and the ccpi package manager. Explore at tonsofskills.com. The licence is MIT.

When your agent uses it

  • A reproducible search
  • Indexing failure needs portable evidence
  • With Algolia debug bundle
  • Collect Algolia diagnostics

Example prompts

  • “Algolia debug bundle”
  • “collect Algolia diagnostics”
  • “Algolia support evidence”
  • “/algolia-debug-bundle”

Requirements

  • Compatibility (from SKILL.md): Designed for Claude Code
  • Pre-approved tools (allowed-tools): Read, Glob, Grep, WebFetch, Write, Edit

Workflow steps

6 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.

  1. Define the incident, recipient, allowed data classes, time window, and maximum bundle size.
  2. Inspect local dependencies, wrapper code, environment variable names, index configuration, and recent relevant logs.
  3. Reproduce one safe read or disposable-index operation and capture redacted request metadata.
  4. Scan every artifact for keys, tokens, emails, user tokens, record payloads, and unrelated secrets.
  5. Build a plain-text manifest with collection source, hash, redaction action, and omission reason.
  6. Review the manifest and bundle contents before any external transfer.

What it can do on your machine

Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 80f86df. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.

  • Tool permissions

Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:

    • Read
    • Glob
    • Grep
    • WebFetch
    • Write
    • Edit

From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

  • Runs code

No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md.

From the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.

  • Network

Links to these hosts (documentation or services it may open):

    • algolia.com
    • status.algolia.com

From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.

  • Credentials

Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.

From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.

  • Compatibility

    Designed for Claude Code

From compatibility in the SKILL.md frontmatter.

Context cost

Algolia Debug Bundle loads about 997 tokens when it runs, and up to ~1.3k if it reads all its reference files. Until then it costs about 73 tokens; SKILL.md has 397 words of instructions outside code blocks.

Always · name and description, kept in context so the agent knows when to use it
~73
When it runs · the whole SKILL.md, loaded when a task matches
~997
With references · SKILL.md plus every file in references/, read only if the agent opens them
~1.3k

Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.

Safety

Auto-check passed

The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.

Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.

Algolia Redacted Debug Bundle

Overview

This skill assembles code, configuration shape, client versions, redacted request evidence, task IDs, and reproduction steps without copying API keys, full records, or unrestricted account data.

Prerequisites

  • A named repository, environment, and Algolia application or index in scope
  • The local lockfile and installed client types as implementation authority
  • A safe read-only query or explicitly disposable test target
  • Current first-party documentation for any provider behavior that affects the change

Tool Discipline

Use Read, Glob, and Grep to inspect local code, configuration names, tests, and dependency versions. Use WebFetch only for current official Algolia documentation. Use Write or Edit only after identifying the target files, constraints, and verification plan.

Current Contract

  • Prefer local configuration names and hashes over live secret or key inspection.
  • Collect the smallest failing request and response; redact credentials, personal data, and unrelated record fields.
  • Include timestamps, regions or hosts, request IDs, task IDs, and client versions when available.
  • Create a manifest before sharing so reviewers can see every included file and redaction rule.

Authentication

Do not fetch, print, validate, or transmit secret values. If a support workflow needs account evidence, use a separately approved read-only credential and preserve only redacted results.

Instructions

  1. Define the incident, recipient, allowed data classes, time window, and maximum bundle size.
  2. Inspect local dependencies, wrapper code, environment variable names, index configuration, and recent relevant logs.
  3. Reproduce one safe read or disposable-index operation and capture redacted request metadata.
  4. Scan every artifact for keys, tokens, emails, user tokens, record payloads, and unrelated secrets.
  5. Build a plain-text manifest with collection source, hash, redaction action, and omission reason.
  6. Review the manifest and bundle contents before any external transfer.

Approval Boundaries

Do not use an Admin key for diagnosis, archive an entire environment, collect production records wholesale, or send the bundle automatically.

Output

Return the reproduction, dependency versions, redacted evidence, artifact manifest, secret-scan result, omitted evidence, and a human-approved handoff path.

Error Handling

ConditionResponse
Potential secret foundRemove the artifact or redact it, then rescan.
Reproduction mutates productionStop and move to a disposable target.

Required evidence is sensitiveDescribe the gap and request an approved channel.

Examples

Use this compact input and expected handoff to calibrate scope and evidence quality.

Input:

text
incident=ALG-42; window=10m; target=products_readonly; bundle-limit=5MB

Expected handoff:

text
artifacts=7; secret-scan=pass; production-records=0; transfer=pending-review
