verify-jlcpcb-bomChecks a KiCad board's production BOM against the schematic, PCB footprints and JLCPCB's parts catalog, then explains which failures are real.
Runs a bundled script against one board's `production/bom.csv`, which is report-only and never edits the schematic, PCB, BOM or footprints itself. If the user hasn't named a board and only one exists, it runs against that one automatically; with several boards it asks which one, and a missing BOM file is never invented, instead pointing the user to generate it with KiCad's Fabrication Toolkit.
The script's output is read in a fixed order: FAIL lines first, then WARN lines, then a single PASS count of BOM rows with no problem, with a nonzero exit code meaning at least one failure. A failure covers things like a wrong or missing LCSC part id, a BOM row that disagrees with the schematic or footprint, or a passive value that disagrees with the catalog's rated resistance, capacitance or inductance; a warning covers a do-not-populate part still listed, zero stock, or a footprint pad count that disagrees with the catalog's pin count.
After quoting the raw output verbatim, every line is interpreted as real, a false positive, or informational, with lines sharing one root cause grouped together; a lookup failure that could not reach the catalog is treated as neither real nor false, since package and value simply were not checked for that part, and nothing is filled in from memory to cover the gap.

JLCPCB BOM Verifier loads about 2k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 95 tokens; SKILL.md has 1,016 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); the scripts in this folder are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 1,016 words (~2,027 tokens).

JLCPCB BOM Verifier fits situations like: checking whether a board's BOM matches its schematic and footprints; verifying LCSC part numbers against the JLCPCB catalog before ordering; interpreting FAIL and WARN lines from a BOM verification run; telling a real part mismatch apart from a string-match false positive.

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add jamro/tiny-engineer --skill verify-jlcpcb-bom -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). Going by SKILL.md and its folder, JLCPCB BOM Verifier needs Python for the scripts in its folder and the command-line tools its instructions call (python3). Our summary lists: Python 3, to run the bundled BOM verification script; A KiCad project with production/bom.csv generated.
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Any network use would come from the scripts or tools the agent runs. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. The check reads SKILL.md only: the scripts in the folder are not scanned, so read them before running anything.
JLCPCB BOM Verifier has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 2k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 8.1k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
