stacked-pr-fast-laneCreate and synchronize focused gh-stack pull request layers, then prepare guarded maintainer fast-lane validation through the GitHub CLI.
Stacked PR Fast Lane is an agent skill from InternationalColorConsortium/iccDEV. Create and synchronize focused gh-stack pull request layers, then prepare guarded maintainer fast-lane validation through the GitHub CLI.
Its SKILL.md is about 1k tokens, which your agent loads only when the skill is triggered. It is a single SKILL.md file with no bundled scripts.
It sits in Development, covering Pull requests. It works with GitHub. The repository describes itself as: iccDEV provides a set of libraries and tools that allow for the interaction, manipulation, and application of ICC color management profiles. The licence is BSD-3-Clause.
5 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 3c2425d. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves these tools, so the agent can use them without asking each time:
bashreadgrepglobshell(git:*)shell(gh:*)From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
Shell commands in SKILL.md call:
ghFrom the folder's file list and the shell code blocks in SKILL.md.
No URLs in SKILL.md. Its commands use gh, which can reach the network depending on how they are called.
From URLs in SKILL.md, links to its own repository left out.
Names no API keys, tokens, secrets or passwords.
From names ending in _API_KEY, _TOKEN, _SECRET, _KEY or _PASSWORD in SKILL.md.
Stacked PR Fast Lane loads about 1k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 40 tokens; SKILL.md has 434 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
The full file from InternationalColorConsortium/iccDEV at commit 3c2425d, republished under its BSD-3-Clause licence (© InternationalColorConsortium). 434 words, ~1,029 tokens.
.claude/skills/stacked-pr-fast-lane/SKILL.md (or your agent's skills folder).Use this skill when related work will create multiple pull requests in a
rolling 24-hour period, when a PR stack is already checked out, or when a
maintainer asks for ci-pr-action fast-lane validation.
Prefer a single linear stack for related changes. Each layer must contain one independently reviewable concern and target the branch immediately below it.
For non-stack branch grooming, use ../../../docs/linear-stack-workflow.md
instead of ad hoc merges or pulls.
Use separate stacks for unrelated or parallel work. Do not use a stack to combine opportunistic cleanup with the requested change.
Before stack work, update the plugin and inspect the tracked state:
gh extension upgrade gh-stack
gh stack view --jsonUse gh stack init <bottom-branch> before writing a new multi-part change
and gh stack add <next-branch> for each dependent layer.
Use gh stack sync --remote origin before handoff and after remote/base
changes. Use gh stack submit --auto --remote origin to create or update
the PRs. Do not manually rebase or push one stack layer.
For noninteractive agents, never invoke the TUI-only gh stack modify or
gh stack switch. Use explicit branch/PR arguments and JSON output.
gh stack view --json.gh stack sync --remote origin before reporting branch
or PR state.Do not dispatch fast lane for a fork, a closed PR, or an untrusted contributor. An agent can prepare commands and inspect runs, but cannot treat fast-lane success as merge approval.
Fast lane applies only to an open same-repository PR and runs exact GCC 15.2
Release LTO plus GCC 15.2 ASAN+UBSAN Debug tool validation. It defaults to
the latest CTest, with Windows opt-in. It does not run Docker verification for
container-surface changes. It is an accelerator, not a
replacement for required PR gates or the long-cycle ci_scope=full gate.
Confirm the target before dispatch:
gh pr view <pr-number> --repo InternationalColorConsortium/iccDEV \
--json number, state,isCrossRepository, headRefName, headRefOidOnly a maintainer with current repository permission may dispatch:
gh workflow run ci-pr-action --repo InternationalColorConsortium/iccDEV \
--ref <branch> \
-f ci_scope=fast-lane \
-f pr_number=<open-same-repository-pr-number> \
-f ctest_recent_limit=1 \
-f include_windows=false \
-f warning_policy=failFind and watch the resulting run:
gh run list --repo InternationalColorConsortium/iccDEV \
--workflow ci-pr-action --branch <branch> --event workflow_dispatch \
--json databaseId,headSha,status,conclusion --limit 1
gh run watch <run-id> --repo InternationalColorConsortium/iccDEV --exit-statusTrigger shared-concurrency runs sequentially. Add Windows only when the change
needs that surface. Container-surface changes, including the unified Dockerfile,
packaged MCP source, and ci-docker-pr.yml, require local canonical-image
validation; ci-pr-action does not run a Docker PR lane. Escalate to
ci_scope=full when the changed surface or merge policy requires the long
cycle.

Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add InternationalColorConsortium/iccDEV --skill stacked-pr-fast-lane -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/stacked-pr-fast-lane, .gemini/skills/stacked-pr-fast-lane, .github/skills/stacked-pr-fast-lane and .opencode/skills/stacked-pr-fast-lane in your project.
Going by SKILL.md and its folder, Stacked PR Fast Lane needs the command-line tools its instructions call (gh). Our summary lists: Docker. Its frontmatter pre-approves these tools: bash, read, grep, glob, shell(git:*), shell(gh:*).
SKILL.md contains no URLs. Its commands use gh, which can reach the network depending on how they are called. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Stacked PR Fast Lane is published under the BSD-3-Clause licence (the repository's licence). It allows redistribution, so the full SKILL.md is shown on this page.
About 1k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 4.1k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
