phoronix-test-suiteInstalls, runs, parses and optimizes Phoronix Test Suite benchmarks, saving scores and comparing results before and after code changes.
The skill has two parts: flows that run end to end, and smaller building blocks the flows combine. Running a test means resolving the test version, installing it, running it and parsing the output, then saving the score to a results store and reporting the test name, version, score and unit, plus the change against any earlier result for that test.
Optimizing starts with a labelled baseline run, then analysis. The agent locates the test's source, reads its entry-point shell script to find the compiled binary, and calls the `linux-perf` skill to profile it and the `performance-patterns` skill to spot SIMD and vectorization opportunities. It can check `generated.json` to see whether the runner honors compiler flags such as `-march=native` or `-O3`, edit the source, rebuild, rerun with a label like after-avx512 and compare scores. The excerpt is cut off before the report template.
5 steps, taken from the first numbered list in SKILL.md.
Read from SKILL.md and the folder at commit 3e33aec. It shows what the files ask for, not the result of running them.
Pre-approves nothing: there is no allowed-tools line, so your agent's usual permission prompts apply.
From allowed-tools in the SKILL.md frontmatter.
No scripts in the folder and no shell commands in SKILL.md (its code samples are bash and json).

Phoronix Test Suite Benchmarks loads about 2.4k tokens when it runs. Until then it costs about 130 tokens; SKILL.md has 968 words of instructions outside code blocks.
Estimates: characters ÷ 4, the usual rule of thumb; real counts depend on the model's tokenizer. Scripts and assets cost tokens only if the agent reads them.
The automated check found no risky patterns in SKILL.md.
Automated static check — not a guarantee. Review scripts before installing. It scans the text of SKILL.md for risky patterns (piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files, hidden Unicode, destructive commands); files beside SKILL.md are not scanned.
Its licence (Custom licence) doesn't allow us to republish the file, so here is its outline and opening line. It has 968 words (~2,371 tokens).
“End-to-end support for running and optimizing benchmarks with the Phoronix Test Suite CLI (phoronix-test-suite). PTS is used as shorthand throughout.”

Phoronix Test Suite Benchmarks fits situations like: running a pts/ test and reporting its score; improving the performance of a Phoronix test's source code; comparing a rebuilt benchmark against its earlier baseline; finding or editing the source of a PTS test.
Run `npx skills add intel/intel-performance-skills --skill phoronix-test-suite -a claude-code`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/phoronix-test-suite in intel/intel-performance-skills) into .claude/skills/phoronix-test-suite in your project. Claude Code loads it when a task matches its description.
Run `npx skills add intel/intel-performance-skills --skill phoronix-test-suite -a codex`. Or copy the skill folder (skills/phoronix-test-suite in intel/intel-performance-skills) into .agents/skills/phoronix-test-suite in your project. Codex loads it when a task matches its description.
Cursor, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot and OpenCode also load SKILL.md folders. With the skills CLI, run `npx skills add intel/intel-performance-skills --skill phoronix-test-suite -a cursor` (or -a gemini-cli, github-copilot or opencode for the others). To copy it by hand, put the folder in .cursor/skills/phoronix-test-suite, .gemini/skills/phoronix-test-suite, .github/skills/phoronix-test-suite and .opencode/skills/phoronix-test-suite in your project.
SKILL.md names no scripts, command-line tools or credentials: Phoronix Test Suite Benchmarks is instructions for the agent only. Our summary lists: The `phoronix-test-suite` command-line tool; The `linux-perf` and `performance-patterns` skills for the optimize flow.
SKILL.md names 1 domain. As links in the text: raw.githubusercontent.com. This is read from the text; nothing was executed.
Our automated static check of SKILL.md found no risky patterns, such as piping downloads into a shell, reading credential files or hidden Unicode. It is not a guarantee. Review the folder before installing.
Phoronix Test Suite Benchmarks has a licence file (the repository's licence) that doesn't match a standard licence. Read it on GitHub before reusing the skill.
About 2.4k tokens (SKILL.md is roughly 9.5k characters). Agents keep only the skill's name and description in context until a task matches; then they load SKILL.md in full.
